These products also meet the current VOC requirements of California SCAQMD Rule 1162 for \"High Strength Resin\".<\/p>\n<p>These low HAP, 100% vinyl ester resins are promoted, thixotropic, and feature excellent physical properties. They also have fast Barcol development, which is very convenient for the spray-up and hand lay-up techniques used in boat, pool and spa manufacturing. Peak exotherm can be reached in as little as 15 minutes; gel times for the series range from 15 to 40 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>The vinyl ester used in the low HAP series is part of the same resin formula evaluated in the Interplastic Corporation\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.interplastic.com\/UserFiles\/File\/15%20year%20study.pdf\">15-year immersion study<\/a>. Laboratory analysis concluded that after 15 years of immersion in water at ambient temperatures, laminate panels constructed with 100% CoREZYN vinyl ester resin or a vinyl ester skin coat showed no signs of blistering. The CoREZYN vinyl ester resin created a barrier impervious to water and therefore prevented osmotic blistering. An additional year of study concluded that these same panels retained their original physical properties as well. Flexural strength, flexural modulus and Izod impact strength were measured. It is designed for marine laminate construction where optimum physical properties, hydrolytic stability, and surface characteristic retention are desired. This product has been evaluated for blistering of gel-coated panels exposed to boiling water. These panels typically withstand 150-170 hours of boiling water immersion before any signs of blistering occur. Our vinyl ester and modified vinyl esters resins meet the stringent testing requirements of the ASTM E84 Tunnel Test, with flame spread ratings of either &lt;75 (Class 2) or &lt;25 (Class 1), as well as an ASTM E162 flammability rating of 20.5, and an ASTM E662 smoke emission rating after 90 seconds of \u22641, and after 240 seconds of \u226420. We have a selection of these resins that can be formulated to meet UL 94V, ASTM D635, MIL-R-21607E or MIL-R-24719. The product line includes products for filament winding, hand lay-up, spray and vacuum infusion. These resins are well suited for use in conventional corrosion applications, such as tanks, pipe and process equipment, as well as transportation components and building and construction.
