clear it is very straight forward.<\/p>\n<h4>First simple pressure measurement formula<\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-44679 width=\"698\" height=\"295\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"slate-resizable-image-embed slate-image-embed__resize-full-width\"><\/div>\n<p>The pic above shows a Container of Height 100 Inches<\/p>\n<p>And this tank contains Liquid of Specific gravity 0.9<\/p>\n<p>So what is the pressure at the bottom?<\/p>\n<h4>Height x Specific gravity = InH2O<\/h4>\n<p>100 (inches) X 0.9 = 90 inH2O<\/p>\n<p>This Formula is adapted from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emerson.com\/documents\/automation\/technical-data-sheet-interface-measurement-pressure-en-74330.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rosemount<\/a> technical Datasheet (paper no :- 00816-0100-3207)<\/p>\n<p>Note :- Specific gravity :- It compares with Density of substance with that of WATER (H2O)<\/p>\n<p>Hence when we multiply ,<\/p>\n<p>Height (Inches)\u00a0x S.G ( Comparing with Density of substance with that of WATER (H2O))<\/p>\n<p>= inH2O (<strong>The unit we get as product<\/strong>)<\/p>\n<p>This our Simple Formula that we will be using.<\/p>\n<h2>Interface Level Calculation<\/h2>\n<p><em>One prerequisite recommended for this system is to fill impulse lines with Heavier fill fluid<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h3>At 4mA Case ( Zero interface level ) :-<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-44681 size-full\" title=\"Zero Interface Level Calculation\" src=\"https:\/\/instrumentationtools.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Zero-Interface-Level-Calculation.jpg\" alt=\"Zero Interface Level Calculation\" width=\"799\" height=\"352\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In this case the entire portion we are measuring will be filled with \u201cLighter fluid\u201d .<\/p>\n<p>So as per our formula<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Pressure at HP tapping<\/strong>\u00a0=\u00a0<strong>Height<\/strong>\u00a0X\u00a0<strong>Specific gravity<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h4>Pressure at HP tapping = 100 inches X 0.5 = 50 inH2O<\/h4>\n<p>(One prerequisite recommended for this system is to fill LP impulse lines with Heavier fill fluid to get stable reading at 20mA )<\/p>\n<p>Hence<\/p>\n<h4>Pressure at LP tapping = Height\u00a0X Specific gravity<\/h4>\n<h4>Pressure at LP tapping = 100 inches X 1 = 100 inH2O<\/h4>\n<h4>Differential pressure of Transmitter = H.P \u2013 L.P<\/h4>\n<h4>Differential pressure of Transmitter = 50 inH2O \u2013 100 inH2O = -50 inH2O<\/h4>\n<h4>It means at -50 inH2O transmitter will give 4mA<\/h4>\n<p>Hurry we are already half way !!!!!<\/p>\n<h3>At 20mA Case ( When tank is full with Heavy fluid)<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-44682 size-full\" title=\"Full Interface Level Calculation\" class=\"slate-resizable-image-embed slate-image-embed__resize-full-width\"><\/div>\n<p>As per our formula<\/p>\n<h4>Pressure at HP tapping\u00a0=\u00a0Height\u00a0X\u00a0Specific gravity<\/h4>\n<h4>Pressure at HP tapping\u00a0= 100 inches X 1 =100 inH2O<\/h4>\n<h4>Pressure at LP tapping = Height\u00a0X Specific gravity<\/h4>\n<h4>Pressure at LP tapping = 100 inches X 1 =100 inH2O (as LP tapping is filled with Heavier fluid)<\/h4>\n<h4>Differential pressure of Transmitter = H.P \u2013 L.P<\/h4>\n<h4>Differential pressure of Transmitter = 100 inH2O \u2013 100 inH2O = 0 inH2O<\/h4>\n<h4>It means at 0 inH2O transmitter will give 20mA<\/h4>\n<h3>So here\u2019s our calibration range \u201c-50 inH<sub>2<\/sub>O to 0 inH<sub>2<\/sub>O\u201d<\/h3>\n<p>For Extra information, what if we need to know what would transmitter give at 50% of Interface<\/p>\n<h3>Case 3 ( 50% is filled with Lighter fluid and 50% is filled with heavier fluid)<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-44683 size-full\" title=\"Interface Level Calculation\" class=\"slate-resizable-image-embed slate-image-embed__resize-full-width\"><\/div>\n<p>50 % of transmitter output will be 12mA transmitter at-25inH2O (Half of total calibration range -50inH2O to 0inH2O )<\/p>\n<h4>Interface = { (D.P by transmitter \u2013 Lower calibration range)\/Span } X Total C-C distance<\/h4>\n<p>Here C-C distance nothing but center to center of measuring distance, as shown in above picture.<\/p>\n<p>I = { ( -25 inH2O \u2013 (-50 inH2O)\u00a0) X 50inH2O } X 100 inH2O<\/p>\n<p><strong>Interface = 50 inH2O<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Cross checking<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Our total distance is 100 inches of H2O<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>When interface is at 50% means Interface between Lighter and heavier fluid will be at 50 inH2O<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Thanks for reading
