Layers.

Buried within are secrets so deep,
That’s where they’re supposed to be,
Unfurl the layers,
And the beauty is lost.

Buried within are secrets so deep,
That’s where they’re supposed to be,
Unfurl the layers,
And the mystery is lost.

Quote Challenge – Day 2.

This is the second quote challenge I have been nominated for. Thank you Savio for this opportunity!

The challenge is focused on healing broken hearts.

Bad things happen. So do good things. And I’ll let you in on a little secret. They never happen the same way twice!

Hence,

Quote Challenge – Day 1.

This is the second quote challenge I have been nominated for. Thank you Savio for this opportunity! You save me the burden of having to think of new post topics in this busy month!

To have one’s heart broken may seem like the worst thing that could have happened. But you know what? It happens to everyone. And most of us get out of it. We let go. We learn to love ourselves.
I’ll focus this challenge on quotes which will make you embrace yourself again (hearts broken or not)!

Her Art.

As her hand moved across the sheet,
She created the man she always wanted,
Putting her dreams on paper for all,
She wanted the world to worship him.

She gave him deep dark eyes,
A mane of hair enviable even by women,
A nose as straight as a string,
A smile to floor with just one look.

In his hand, she gave him a knife,
The dripping blood adding menace to him,
“It’s time to get back to your cell,”
The nurse said taking her art away.

Graciously Yours!

Still looking…

Silently he stood, wrinkled eyes wide, mouth pursed,
Putting together the world piece by piece.

The trees had grown up only to be sheared,
The jungles turned into concrete.

The view from his window of nesting birds,
Had been replaced by hoardings of beautiful girls.

The balcony of the next house never opened,
The children too busy becoming ‘smart’.

A school bus stopped by their building,
The mother busy typing, blind to the child’s smiles!

The ice cream vendors had died out over the summers,
The playground became the lover’s park.

He would miss the view from his balcony,
However changed it may have become.

The truth of life still scared him,
Now that the doctors had given up too.

Who knew what would entail his death,
Would he be happier there, or just not unhappy?

Graciously Yours!

Uncommon Us!

Here’s right back at ya, mate, for just being you ! (Your birthday’s too far away for a birthday dedication! And you just cracked your Chartered Accountancy exam today. So, I think the timing is just appropriate!)

I was lost, wanting to be found,

I was expecting help from someone profound.

In you strode, with your humour and brains,

Breaking all rules, and everything that bound me to chains.

For long you’ve been around, some way or the other,

You’d crop up in my talks, with my brother or mother.

There were rumours of us, which had us in splits,

Your antics with staplers and laptops had me laughing in fits!

Times passed and I thought we’d go our different way,

But that’s when we came closer, what do I say!

You’re adorable as the brother, the uncle, the friend,

Always with a smile, a helping hand, a clear head.

I was lost, wanting to be found,

I was expecting help from someone profound.

You stood by, watching me, with patience,

A misstep here and one there, and you’d drill in sense!

Graciously Yours!

P.S.: By the way, Deepak, you do realize you need to treat me after this, don’t you? My fellow bloggers will agree! Don’t you agree, folks?

Little Sister.

The Little Sister is going away to study. Time for another blog dedication ❤

2015

The little birdie fluffed her wings,

Pruned the tips, Twitched her tail,

Cleared her voice, sang melodious rings,

Announcing her departure, she was ready to sail!

So now I have the whole bed to me!

But no one to wake up to.

I don’t have to share my clothes.

But I don’t have anyone to borrow from.

I can stay up talking all night long,

But there’s no one in my room I can talk to.

Those crazy, scratchy cat fights,

The late night snacking,

The binge television watching,

The dreamy eyed plannings,

The sessions of motivation,

The patience, the innovation.

I am going to miss it all!

Mary is going to miss her Little Lamb. And I know you’ll miss me too. The 21st century tech will be blessed more than before now!

Go rock it, girl! Make us proud ❤

Graciously Yours!

A year.

A year ago, we were strangers.
A year later, we still are.
In between, you gave me a lifetime of memories.

Quote Challenge – Day 3.

Next time, Mommy dear tells you to get up by 7, tell her ‘time is a concept humans created’!

Next time your friend calls you an insomniac for being up at 3 am, let him know ‘time is a concept humans created’!

Next time, that relative asks you when you’ll get married, tell them ‘time is a concept humans created’!

Next time you think you’re too young to hit the road in your running shoes, tell yourself ‘time is a concept humans created’!

Next time, you want to play with that kid’s toy, tell the kid ‘time is a concept humans created’!

Enjoy what you get of time! Because though we created it, we don’t control it!

Thank you, Akiraa, for nominating me for the 3 day Quote challenge.
