icons 11; don't hurt me, I bleed constantly

Notes:
○ Found this via tentacleness when regis completed her claim at lightning speed. Luckily, sign ups were still up regardless of the themes having been up as well |D signed up for Death Note after ~much thought. OK I was just reading the manga like the day before I found sign ups so I was a bit excited and hyped.
○ Was watching the timezone like a hawk, since I had not started this claim until a couple days ago and I made about 10 icons today to finish. Too much, especially since the themes were challenging! /go me for procrastinating during summer break.
○ 01, complimentary colors I was originally going to go for black/white as complimentary colors, but in the end I ended up with orange/blue which is fine since the result is a bit better than I expected.
○ 02, face to the side LAZY ICON. I thought this theme was a bit too specific to leave room for any creativity tbqh since it was asking for negative space and a close crop. I was thinking of using an actual background instead of the solid black there, but I thought it wouldn't be negative space anymore if I did that.
○ 03, face in face STRUGGLED LIKE A MOFO. I had to extract both images and now I have no idea what happened. I ended up with Light's head growing out of Ryuk lol. The result isn't godawful imo but I believe this theme was quite challenging as a mofo. BLENDING IS HARD, especially since you have to do something like this where you have to put a face in a face. I originally was thinking of making Ryuk a silhouette of some sort but I realized I had no idea how to do that. I was also in a rush to finish these so I really didn't want to take extra time to do like the third icon out of this set to figure out how to do so.
○ 04, extreme simplicity Believe it or not, I love this icon and doing simple icons (lol I run an icontest that is exactly that). I now realize that I should have done an icon for theme 2 that had a white background instead, since it's easier and more fun to work with even if left blank. DAMMIT.
○ 05, faceless The easiest theme of all, almost. It was hard to find a Death Note image that had, well, interesting bodies for me to crop lol. I ended up with Misa and her heart image thing. I like this one a lot for unknown reasons.
○ 06, support Near and Mello are a support to each other?! Even though Mello doesn't like to admit it.
○ 07, grunge Probably my favorite icon from the whole set. I don't know what it is about it, but I really like the result. Possibly because I have always liked grunge icons and making them (used to do grunge icons more a couple of years ago). It was a job well done imo; having extracted it and added all those textures like a boss. |D
○ 08, chosen Lol I don't even know what to say about this one. I also liked paper textures back in the day so I thought about using one here.
○ 09, bold I like this one a bit, too. God knows why. Because it's so simple?
○ 10, perfect I liked this one at first, but now I am starting to think it's just one hot mess.
○ set theme: Two Steps From Hell instrumental music. I took inspiration from Heart of Courage and it sounded a bit racy and serious. I thought of using characters from the second half of the series to represent it. Lol I make no sense. Anyway, 11 and 15 are my favorites from this category just because. No, it is not because I like Near, in fact, if anything, I don't like him lol. These icons turned out a lot better than I expected.
○ artist's choice Light textures galore. These were actually made back in January lol but I have never posted them before and they were never for any icontest (made for fun whoop whoop, don't see me doing that too often anymore lol).
○ 21 was an entry for simple_icontest but for some reason I never posted it. Probably had meant to post it awhile ago but it was left behind.
