Just saw The Martian and it's a really great movie. I enjoyed it very much. Just read the book a week ago and think they did a very good job. There were some cuts but great adaption.

The audience was nice too.

Just bought Ron Perlman's memoir Easy Street - The Hard Way and I am really looking forward reading it. And even though I don't much like listen to audio books, I also bought the audio book version (was a deal with the e-book) because it is Ron Perlman reading it. :)

Two things I've recently watched

Last Saturday we had movie night at kangaroohills and vicodissimus's house and we watched "The Grand Budapest Hotel". Such a weird and wonderful movie. I knew nothing about it before and decided to watch it more from the desire to watch something with friends, but I am so so glad I did.
If you have the chance, watch it. :)

Yesterday I just stumbled over the Amazon Pilot Season and watched The Man in the High Castle. I had heard about that book but have never read it. The episode was well filmed and made me want more. Hopefully they will pick it up. Some minor German errors (can't tell if there were Japanese ones) but fairly well done.

The new Ratatouille attraction and restaurant. Great ride and good food. Used our hotel fast pass for this and that was great. No waiting at all and normal waiting time was 50 minutes.

Disneyland Paris

Arrived yesterday and it was surprisingly not as crowded as feared.

We did some rides (Big Thunder Mountain, Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean, Buzz Lightyear) and had a nice dinner at the Blue Lagoon restaurant. Unfortunately it rained after that and our feet hurt so we didn't stay for the Disney Dreams parade.
Our hotel is quite nice.

I have a new toy

Since my old netbook is still running on XP and fairly slow anyway I decided to buy a tablet. After searchig for a little while I decided on the Samsug Note 10.1. I also bought a keyboard which can used as a cover too. I am just typing this post and it works fairly well.
I also watched some Japanese drama with soft subs and that works too. :D

I love this version too! (Germans, you need an unblocker to see it) So interesting to see the singers. And I didn't know the German version and the Dutch version were sung by the same person.

Japanese language and bento

Question for learners of Japanese:
In general I think Japanese sounds are easy, the only one I have difficulties with are ryo and ryu. Is that a general problem (for German speakers) or just my personal problem?

Watched the first episode of the new season of Call The Midwife tonight and I really love that series. My favorite character is Chummy. :D But all the characters are so good.
Really great series. I can't wait for more episodes.

Kame is filming in Singapore at the moment and from the pics that surfaced on the net yesterday they filmed in Bugis, which was where I stayed last November and so it looked familiar. :D Which is always thrilling. Can't wait to see that movie, but of course it will only come out next year.

KAT-TUN and Once Upon a Time

My fanmeeting goods arrived yesterday! Squee!!! So nice! Thanks a lot to jo_lasalle and frameofmind6 who got them for me. I love Kame's postcard set.

Which reminds me that I still have to send out goods as well. So sorry. *hangs head* will definitely do that tomorrow.

Jweb is really good to us at the moment, so many updates and reports. And I found out they are reading the mails you send them though the contact form and answer them. :) I had complained that the links to the con report didn't work on the first day and the apologized. :D Good to know.

And KAT-TUN in general have been good to us too. So many shows (and good ones) since the concerts. I hope we get a single release announcement soon.

I am trying to get caught up with all the series I am watching and just finished the last available episode of Once Upon a Time. I am probably the only one still watching but I still like it. Gosh, Henry has a complicated family tree! :D I hope some stuff that happened is not permanent but I liked what they did to go into a new direction.

I am still waiting for a package from Singapore. I've ordered something from a shop there and while they tell me that it has reached Germany over a week ago it still hasn't arrived. :((( I blame customs.

Going to the movies

Kame in a movie and Amachan at Kohaku!

Kame in a new movie! And such a great role! A spy in an action movie and locations in Indonesia and Singapore. :D Can't wait to see his new hair cut for the role.

Just saw the clip of the cast of Amachan at Kohaku! So great! Really really loved it, surely a real treat for any fan of Amachan. Loved how they set it up and that everyone stayed in character (the old ladies even tried to molest MatsuJun LOL!).

My sleeping pattern is still all over the place. Mostly I wake up much too early and can't fall asleep again. Even though I stay up very late.

Yesterday I meet with some friends which I didn't spend New Year's Eve this time. :D We wanted to play some boardgames and even though we only played one in the end, it was really fun. The game we played was 7 Wonders. In general we often play "party games" which are easy to learn and suitable for big groups. But since we were only seven people we were glad to be able to play a more complex game. The first round was really slow as everyone was still learning but in the second round everyone had gotten the hang of it and so it was much faster.
I hope we can play lots of board games this year.

Watched Shuichi this morning with the report abut KAT-TUN's concert and rehearsals and it was great.So much fun to see the behind the scene stuff and also the glimpses of the concert. They had such spectacular sets especially for Fire & Ice and Phoenix. Phoenix is such an awesome song. Really really love it. But I actually love all the songs from the Kusabi album.

I really need some new icons. Mine are all so old, but there are not many people still making and sharing them. :(

To a great 2014

Happy New Year everyone!

I am just back from my crazy but totally awesome four days trip to Osaka, Japan. So worth it!

The concerts were so amazing! It was my 19th and 20th KAT-TUN concert and no. 20 to be a Countdown was so fitting and especially since the theme was their past (all the great songs I never expected to hear live or live again) and with all the awesome songs from the mini album also their future.

I am in my 8th year as a KAT-TUN fan and it continues to be such an amazing experience.

Not only because of KAT-TUN but also because of all the great people I meet through them.

Weekend trip to Thailand

the girl next door who won't stop terrorizing you, mienai2401 and I are just back in Singapore from a weekend trip to Thailand.
We stayed in Aonang Beach, went to the Night Market on Friday, did the Four Island boat trip on Saturday which included swimming and snorkeling, and had a Thai massage this morning.
Of course we also ate a lot of yummy Thai food and had cocktails. :-)

Vacation in Singapore

I know I am neglecting LJ but posting pics from the phone is so much easier on Facebook, and that's were most of my vacation pics are.
Had a long but uneventful flight and arrived in Singapore on Monday evening. Got picked up at the airport and already spent two lovely days here. Gardens by the Bay is really very pretty.

KAT-TUN

It isn't easy being a KAT-TUN fan. :(

I am sad, and shocked about Koki leaving KAT-TUN, but not surprised and not angry either. Idol life was too restricting for Koki and JE couldn't really ignoring his continued contract violations.

I am still a KAT-TUN fan and I am just hoping that they will announce a new single in the near future. And a tour for next year. And that Koki will be able to do what he really wants to do. I will especially miss his jwebs and new reports about his animals.

I am also hoping Juri will stay and that he won't suffer because of it. They might keep him a bit out of the spotlight for a while.
