Two years ago, on May 9, 2024, Ankur Verma and I had our first virtual meeting with Scott Kennedy. Like many founder stories, it started with a cold outreach. I reached out to Scott, shared our background, our mission, and the problems we were trying to solve for consumer goods and retail companies. I simply asked if he'd be open to learning more. He said yes. What we didn't know then was that Franklin Sports would go on to become our lighthouse customer and one of the biggest blessings in our journey. It's hard to believe it's been two years. We started by tackling one of their biggest challenges: improving demand forecasting for their Amazon channel. From day one, the Franklin Sports team challenged us at every step, and they still do. But that's exactly what makes the partnership special. They never treated us like just another software vendor. They invested time to deeply understand our intent, our approach to data science, and the thinking behind our models. That level of curiosity and engagement created something far more valuable than a customer relationship, it built trust. And trust, combined with healthy challenge and collaboration, is what leads to truly meaningful outcomes. Last year, we had the opportunity to meet Lora Cecere and demo our platform. Lora has always been known for supporting innovative young companies with a thoughtful and unbiased perspective. She was particularly intrigued by our reinforcement learning approach and the results we had achieved together with Franklin Sports. After learning more about the journey, she suggested something unexpected: "I'd love to write a case study, not for the companies involved, but for the broader supply chain planning community." Today, we are grateful to Lora for telling this story in her own authentic way. It's an independent perspective on what can happen when forward-thinking operators and modern software companies come together to solve complex planning challenges. Thank you to Scott Kennedy and the entire Franklin Sports team for believing in us early, challenging us relentlessly, and helping shape the company we are today. I hope you enjoy the read and find something useful in it. Namrata Gupta Siddharth Shahi Dan VanHousen TrueGradient #demandplanning #integratedplanning #inventoryoptimization #priceoptimization

Speaking with 30+ Shopify brand founders last 2 quarters led to one major realisation: Most Shopify-first brands don’t lose money because of poor products. They lose millions quietly through planning inefficiencies. - #65% mentioned excess inventory tying up working capital - #85% highlighted frequent stock-outs and missed revenue - #75% said promotions are disconnected from real demand signals - #80% still rely heavily on spreadsheets and instincts for forecasting The biggest opportunity in modern commerce is no longer just customer acquisition. It’s #operationalintelligence. Imagine: - Recovering millions in lost sales from fewer stock-outs - Unlocking cash trapped in excess inventory - Running promotions with precision instead of guesswork - Aligning marketing, inventory, and demand in real time - Scaling SKU complexity without scaling operational chaos The next generation of winning Shopify brands won’t just have better marketing. They’ll have better planning infrastructure. AI-native forecasting, inventory optimization, and promotion planning are becoming the operating system of modern commerce. This is exactly our #mission at TrueGradient ! That shift is already underway. #Shopify #DemandPlanning #InventoryOptimization #priceoptimisation #RetailTech #Ecommerce #Forecasting #SupplyChain #AI #DTCBrands #RetailAI #truegradient

Grateful for meaningful recognitions for TrueGradient over the last three months. Inc42 Media named TrueGradient among the startups to watch that can disrupt the industry. Coresight Research mapped us among the top supply chain planning platforms in retail alongside o9 Solutions, Inc., Blue Yonder and RELEX Solutions. Thank you to both teams. Genuinely. These recognitions give us even more confidence that the industry is ready for a modern, AI-native planning operating system. And the mission hasn't changed: Enterprise-grade AI for the mid-market without the enterprise price tag. We are humbled. More confident than ever. More dug in than ever.

  • Exciting announcement! 📣 Delighted to share that Bearaby has chosen TrueGradient to run its integrated planning across demand, inventory, and pricing. Bearaby is a fast-growing omnichannel retailer, predominantly D2C, navigating the classic challenges of modern retail: seasonality, trends, new product launches, and high-impact events that create highly erratic demand, often leading to lost sales or excess stock. A big thank you to Eduardo A. for the trust, and for the continued curiosity and engagement in rethinking planning with a modern operating system. In just 8 weeks, we operationalized the platform, now actively driving demand and replenishment decisions. Looking forward to the journey ahead and the impact we’ll create together. More to come! 🚀 Siddharth Shahi Namrata Gupta Dan VanHousen Ankur Verma Jasneet (Jas) Kohli

Amazon Prime Day is coming up. Most teams will plan it with a single forecast. But that’s not how demand behaves. The real question is: What does my bullish, base, and conservative scenario look like? How much inventory do I position in the DC for each? You can’t answer this with one number. You need probabilistic forecasts and the ability to run supply scenarios quickly. A planner should be able to: > Look at different forecast bounds > Test scenarios across product hierarchies > See the inventory impact across the network in real time That shift from static planning to scenario thinking is where most of the value sits. More in the blog (link in comments). #10Xplanner #Integratedplanning TrueGradient

  • Pricing isn’t a #guess. It’s a #system !! Most brands still treat pricing like a one-time decision: Set it. Test it. Hope it works. But in reality, pricing is a continuous system - driven by demand, inventory, and customer behavior. At TrueGradient, we’ve seen this play out repeatedly: 👉 Excess inventory? Price should move. 👉 Stockouts risk? Price should respond. 👉 Demand spikes? Price should adapt. The problem isn’t lack of data. It’s the lack of a #connectedsystem. Modern pricing needs 3 things: - Real-time demand signals - Inventory-aware decisions - Continuous optimization (not static rules) When pricing becomes part of your planning system, not a silo you stop reacting and start engineering outcomes. 📉 Less excess 📈 Fewer stockouts 💰 Higher realized margins That’s the shift from #guesswork#systemdrivenpricing. If you’re still pricing in #spreadsheets, you’re leaving money on the table. Are you constantly in #builder mode? One of the biggest challenges for any tech founder is finding the right balance between #building and #selling. At TrueGradient, we were stuck in that exact trap for most of 2025. Like many product-first founders, we kept telling ourselves: "Just one more feature, just one more improvement, then we’ll push harder on GTM" But at some point, we had to step back and ask ourselves a hard question: Is the product actually not ready, or are we just overbuilding? We realized something important: Our platform was already mature enough to solve problems in a #multibilliondollar market. So in Q1 2026, we made a conscious shift. We started balancing building with selling. And the results were phenomenal. We onboarded 6 new ICP customers globally across Europe, Australia, and North America in just one quarter. 🚀 Here’s what worked for us: 1. Deep Ecosystem Integrations As a planning platform, integration friction kills deals. We invested heavily into becoming deeply embedded within our ICP’s ecosystem. We launched 1-click integrations with Shopify, BigQuery, Fulfil.io. This allowed customers to onboard in 2–3 days and instantly map their demand + supply planning workflows. Result: Sales conversations became dramatically easier because integration objections disappeared. 2. Agentic Decision-Making Layer We built planning agents that can answer operational questions like: "Provide me the reorder plan. Which SKUs should I order, and how much from China to Europe and New Zealand, given capacity constraints?" Instead of dashboards… users now get decisions. 3. Scenario + What-If Intelligence Planning teams can now run scenario simulations instantly. Example: "Recommend a P80 forecast for a conservative Black Friday inventory strategy." Moving from static forecasting → dynamic decision intelligence. 4. Mobile Visibility We launched mobile access for end-to-end visibility of the planning process. Because planning leaders shouldn’t need to open a laptop to understand what’s happening in their business. 5. UX Focus for the 10X Planner Q1 was heavily focused on UI/UX improvements based on real planner feedback. Our belief: The best AI in the world is useless if planners don’t love using it. Biggest lesson for me as a founder: Sometimes the bottleneck is not the product. It’s your willingness to stop building and start selling. Would love to hear from other founders - "Have you struggled with balancing builder mode vs seller mode?" • Proud to share that one of Australia’s fastest-growing Shopify-native homecare brand CouchCare ((https://lnkd.in/gYCSH77q) is now partnering with TrueGradient to transform their planning operations using our Agentic OS. 🤝 As the business scaled rapidly, the team faced a challenge common to many high-growth D2C brands: spreadsheets and manual planning processes simply couldn’t keep up. Frequent stockouts, reactive purchasing decisions, and inefficient reorder planning were creating operational friction and risking lost sales. As demand volatility increased, the need for a smarter, more scalable planning system became clear. Their objective was simple: eliminate stockouts, streamline reordering, and build a more proactive inventory planning engine. With TrueGradient’s Agentic Planning OS, the team is now moving from reactive spreadsheet-based planning to self-serve, AI-driven decision-making. Excited to help them build a more resilient and intelligent planning operation as they continue to scale. 🚀
