Cancer care has become more precise over time, but outcomes can still vary widely. Now, researchers are looking beyond mutations to how tumors behave. In new findings published in Nature Methods, Microsoft researcher Lorin Crawford shares how the right data can help AI reveal patterns in cell behavior that may lead to better ways to match therapies to patients. Our newest AI Diffusion Report is out, and I sat down with Juan M. Lavista Ferres on Tools and Weapons to dig into what the first few months of 2026 are telling us. For the first time, we're looking at AI usage county by county across the United States, and some of the findings may surprise you. Recently, we welcomed Alix Earle for her first visit to Microsoft campus and it was a fun reminder of how much technology, creativity, and storytelling are colliding right now.   From exploring new Microsoft products and experiences, to meeting the Xbox, Surface and Copilot teams building them, Alix spent the day getting a behind-the-scenes look at how ideas go from concept to impact.   A lot has happened for Alix since we last spoke at Cannes, and it was great hearing her perspective on launching Reale Actives, growing as a founder, and staying genuinely connected to her audience as her platform continues to expand.   Thanks again to Alix for spending the day with us on campus and for such an honest conversation about building, creating, and growing in real time.   Excited to share more from our chat. What an amazing day at Microsoft Build. Loved getting to dig into #accessibility with people from so many industries. Some folks knew accessibility deeply, others were just starting to learn, but everyone agreed on one thing: this is what responsible AI looks like. The conversations today made it clear that accessibility is no longer a niche topic. It’s becoming foundational to how we build better products, better experiences, and better technology for everyone. If you’re at Build and haven’t stopped by yet, come check out the Access for All booth and say hi. We’d love to show you how AI is helping change the game for accessibility across Microsoft and beyond.

Day one of Microsoft Build is in the books, and the conversations at the Access for All booth have been incredible. There’s so much energy around how AI is reshaping accessibility. From GitHub’s Accessibility Scanner to new ways developers are building inclusion directly into their workflows, it’s exciting to see accessibility becoming part of the product development process from the start. The best part has been the conversations, hearing your stories, perspectives, and the ways inclusive technology is shaping the work you do every day. If you’re at Build this week, stop by the Access for All booth. We’d love to connect and keep the conversation going. #Accessibility #MicrosoftBuild #GitHubAccessibilityScanner

Microsoft is advancing how organizations stay ahead of the risks and possibilities AI brings at #MSBuild. Notably, this includes the expanded preview of MDASH, a multi-model agentic scanning system from Microsoft Security. By orchestrating 100+ specialized AI agents, MDASH can find and validate vulnerabilities at scale. More importantly, it cuts through the noise, allowing teams to focus on what truly matters. Now integrated directly into Microsoft Defender for preview users, MDASH brings this intelligence into the day-to-day SOC environment—embedding a human-guided AI harness right where defenders operate. Early momentum is strong, with 10% increased performance in CyberGym testing.  Explore how we’re bringing agentic security and end-to-end protection into the workflow in Aleš Holeček Holecek's blog: https://lnkd.in/g8pKvwqt

Mayo Clinic and Microsoft are collaborating to develop a frontier AI model designed specifically for healthcare, combining Mayo Clinic's clinical expertise and healthcare insights with Microsoft's advanced AI and engineering capabilities. The collaboration aims to support earlier diagnoses, more personalized treatment decisions, and better patient and clinician experiences through AI. The technology is designed to support clinicians and help inform decision-making while keeping patients and healthcare professionals at the center of care. Unlike general-purpose AI tools, healthcare requires deep clinical context, rigorous governance, and real-world validation. The frontier AI model will be owned by Mayo Clinic, reinforcing Mayo Clinic's commitment to patient trust, safety and responsible stewardship of clinical data and AI. Microsoft plans to make the model available through Azure Foundry APIs, helping expand access to advanced healthcare AI capabilities worldwide. Today at #MSBuild we shared an early look at Project Solara, a new platform for agent-first devices. We’re exploring how agents can take shape in devices designed for a specific scenario, customer, or place—bringing intelligence into workflows and environments where traditional computing has not naturally fit before. Project Solara is the platform that lets builders realize this vision for their customers—choosing where their agents should live, what form they should take, and what new work they can unlock. It’s still early, but the opportunity is exciting! Read more at https://lnkd.in/gKj_JVcT.

📢 Microsoft Build Announcement 1️⃣ Introducing Project Solara ✨ Composing a new platform for agent-first devices Here's what that actually means 👇 The mission of Project Solara, a new software platform coupled with tailored hardware solutions, is to pioneer agent-first experiences that are shaped around you: your agents, your tasks, your environment, under your control. The platform stands on three pillars: 1️⃣ Enterprise-readiness: privacy, security, control, and trust. Seamless access to your agents must be balanced with transparency and control, so enterprise customers, device users, and the people around them can understand and control how these devices are used. 2️⃣ Agent-driven interaction with just-in-time UI: The ability for an agent experience to adapt across devices and modalities without developers redesigning for every device. 3️⃣ Bring your own agents: Solara is built for a multiple-agent world. Microsoft agents where they add value, plus your own agents for your own workflows. Microsoft is previewing concepts that explore two very broad categories: stationary and portable. 🔹 A desk device: glanceable access to your calendar and Priority Cards, M365 Copilot voice grounded in WorkIQ, and it can become a Windows 365 client when you plug in a display. 🔹 A portable badge: a touchscreen, fingerprint access, camera and mic, reimagining the access badge that nurses and frontline workers already carry every day. 🛣️ Availability: Microsoft will begin a private pilot in the coming months with companies like AccuWeather, Best Buy, CVS Health, Levi’s, Target, and others. If agents are no longer confined to one app or one screen, which form factor do you think lands first in the enterprise: the wearable badge or the desk device? 🔔 Follow for more Microsoft news and Build announcements throughout the week. #MSBuild #AI #AgenticAI #Microsoft
