True Riches

Has the lottery been a hot topic of conversation with those around you? In the corporate world and among friends the topic has been frequented over the past week. The big question being answered is “what would you do if you won?”

The beautiful thing about following Christ is you don’t have to win the lottery to be rich! You can find true riches in His glory! Not riches in what He has to offer, not riches in what He does, but true riches in HIM.

“I pray that out of the riches of His glory, He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being.”  Ephesians 3:16

When you become a Christian, you not only become rich in His glory, but His glory strengthens you too.

“And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19

God will supply every need, according to His will, that you have. Not only will He give you His glorious riches, but He will give you His wisdom. His courage. His patience. His love. His peace. His joy. The list could go on and on.

While it’s fine if you chose to participate in the lottery, wouldn’t you prefer a guaranteed win? Not a one in 292 million chance, but a 100% chance of winning true everlasting riches. A richness that will never fade away. A richness that won’t cause quarrel among friends or family. A richness that will overflow to others. A guaranteed, never-ending riches that will carry you from now until forever?

God’s riches are unmeasurable and unsurpassable. There is nothing to gamble. There is nothing to lose. It doesn’t end. There is no disappointment. There isn’t just one winner, but everyone who chooses, can be a winner. Seek the riches of Jesus Christ and He will meet your every need according to His glorious riches.
