Quite literally at the moment. The clouds are so full of rain they are skimming the top of my roof and the upper pasture is completely engulfed. Very eerie and mysterious feeling. Love it.

Have been helping digital_diva learn a little about creating custom content for TS3 and she is doing an awesome job. She does have a bit of a case of the 'lets jump to the ends' though *lol* One step at a time my dear, there is a method to my madness ;-)

Books. Lets see, am now up to date with the Dark-Hunter series. The 'Acheron' book, of course, was a disappointment at the end. But I think I have now come to terms with the fact that no author will ever write the story of my favorite characters the way I want. So in future when these books come up I will simply read them with the attitude of just being curious to see what they did and no more.

Have also read the first two books of JR Wards 'Fallen Angels' series (meh) and the first two books of Ellen Schreiber's 'Vampire Kisses' series (even more meh). I am hopeful the Fallen Angels will pick up in book three, Vampire Kisses book three will be emergency reading only. I have just started Gena Showalter's 'Lords Of The Underworld' series. We'll how it goes, but the first 100 pages has A LOT of blah blah blah filler crap. What takes her 100 pages would take any other author 30. But I have learned not to judge a series by the first book so...

Writing for episode 2 of Blood Dagger is going well. I have about 1/3 of the captures done, but need to create a new world and sims for some flashback scenes, so that will slow things down a bit. I am learning a lot about ancient history. Specifically in relation to the region where Bulgaria is now. Um, yeah, I like incorporating real facts into my stories. At least as much as is possible in a supernatural theme *lol*

And in case you missed it, because I forgot to mention it *lol* Episode 01 has been posted [HERE]

ETA : UGH! Just noticed I screwed up my bid in help_japan . Thought I replied to the previous bidder by apparently not. Also didn't provide all the info I apparently needed to because after taking a quick look down at what posts had been made in the community I went to THIS post that has INTRUCTIONS in it, but only says to make your bid, unlike at the top of the page where it says to provide contact info. *head desk* That was so not my fault. Hopefully they will just contact me via pm if I won *sigh*

</user>

Here at DW I have created a community, the_blooddagger . I wrote a very VERY short Pilot episode which is already up for your perusal.

The reason I've ended up having to post elsewhere is because I realized, too late of course, that I would need to have the community listed with "Use Discretion" or "Explicit Content". I'm still not sure how sexually explicit I'm going to get, but the story does deal with delicate subjects like rape and child abuse, so the community won't be open for the public to read.

Having said that, the story isn't ALL about those subjects. They simply come up as part of the pasts of some characters. The story is about the overcoming of those pasts and beating the bad guys ;-)

For those of you who are considering reading my story but haven't followed a Sims story before, I should tell you that writing a story with images is very time consuming. I usually make anywhere between 30 and 50 captures per episode, then its written up. This takes about 2 to 3 weeks per episode. So, the story won't be coming quick, but it won't be a burden to read either.

Anyways, Episode 1 should be up at some point this weekend. Hope you all give it a try and let me know what you think. I haven't written like this is a very long time and know I'm a little rusty.

ETA: Oh! Apparently unregistered people CAN read the story here, they just have to click through a bunch of warnings.

</user>

...could someone explain this to me and maybe give me a formula I can use that won't make my head explode, please?

If my vampire was turned in 66 BC at the age of 20, how old in total does that make him this year?

Math is seriously not my thing *lol*

OK WAIT. If we shorten it up and say... he was born in 3 BC, then:
year = 3 - 2 - 1 - 1 - 2...
age  = 0 - 1 - 2 - 3 - 4...

So there isn't a year zero to count, so he would be... 2097? Or... wait... *head explodes*

I'm definitely going to do a Sim story. The headquarters is finished, the Sims are finished, have a profile worked out for each of them. Surprisingly the hardest part is turning out to be figuring out which one to start with. It will be either Quinn or Gideon, but... *sigh*. Oh! But! I found a mod with some animation poses! Its not a lot (clearly the creator Twallen doesn't have OCD like me *lol*), but enough to make captures a little easier.

Speaking of Nathaniel, I have now read three books with were-leopards, and have to say they are the greatest creations ever *guh* But, why is it that every author insists that they have been horribly abused by their parents? All three had less than desirable childhoods. Just wondering?

And that's it for Radio DJ Gerard *sigh*. It was an awesome week of him talking about wanting to be Dr. Who, to get knighted, Frank being a master list maker, his eyeball... good times.

... that I spent Xmas day with a serial killer, even if he is a good one. *lol*

First thing was opening presents. As per usual Santa gave me lots of DVDs: Supernatural S5, Vampire Diaries S1, Heroes S2 & 3, etc. Second was updating my Sims3 game and then installing the Late Night Expansion pack that Santa also gave me *yay!* That took half the day so I wasn't really in the mood to sit at the computer anymore and play, so I moved on to having my own Dexter S4 marathon *lol* All in all, it was a good day :-)

I'm starting out clean, with just the bare essentials added: the NoMosaic hack, Default skin and eye replacements, and only about a dozen CC. This is my new Leevan. I made him out of my previous Nathaniel Callahan sim, just made small adjustments and changed hair. I made him a boyfriend but haven't added him yet.

So far what I like most: Vampire teeth! I cheated and gave them to Leevan without really turning him into a vampire but, whatever *lol* I also like the apartment buildings and the subway system. Um... is there anything else in this EP? Seriously, is there?
My hair is blue! Did it yesterday and was sweating bullets the entire time, blue is so freakin' tricky to get right, and holy crap I do not recommend home dying your hair when you don't have running water. Rinsing the dye out was a nightmare! BUT. The color came out fantastic! I am super happy with it, and will have photos asap!

ETA : Blue hair photo added!

Especially when you can't find your damn tripod *lol* Ended up crouched on the floor in the kitchen with the camera on the counter. I wanted a dark blue with lighter chunks and it worked out pretty good. There are some areas that are a wee bit greenish, mostly on the ends, but I actually like it.

Asking here because this might be a stupid question *lol*

Do you guys want to know what the next single is going to be? Do you want to see the cover art? Is it good enough if it's put behind a cut, or would you prefer not being tempted at all and wait for things to be revealed officially?

I ask because I have the info and cover art for the next single. Oh and if you don't want to know, don't go to my website, 'cause it's posted in the sidebar already ;-)

ETA : one more vote for "Yes, share the shit already!" and I'll post it and stop being all paranoid, as usual *lol*
ETA ETA : see? I knew it was a stupid question *lol* I just hate spoiling stuff for people.

Am feeling defeated. It's up at muchmusic, but the fucking thing keeps stopping halfway through, VERY frustrating *ugh!* ETA : I have been linked to a download *whoot!*

Am blazing my way through The Morganville Vampires series. Finally an author who can write! *mind boggles* It's definitely light fare, but well written (with the exception of the author, Rachel Caine, completely screwing up the timeline). This is what the Anita Blake series would have been if Laurell Hamilton's hormones hadn't gone into overdrive: fast paced, likable characters (I especially like Myrnin, the Mad Scientist Vampire), first love, best friends... I'm already on book 5 since they're only about 250 pages each, and am going to give the series a thumbs up for anyone looking for something thats just plain fun.

Now where the hell did I put my staple gun? grr...

But I hit up the big ones first so, probably not much more to add from the Weezer show.

It has been raining, raining, raining here. Believe me, I'm VERY aware of that fact, that your in London, and not here, you've left me all alone with the site... again *gulp* But I'm fighting! OMG I'm fighting the urge to be bad! And I may have already made a graphic... and uploaded it... but I won't use it! I will be strong! *grits teeth*

I was able to distract myself for awhile writing up the drabble I promised. Although it ended up at 200 words, so I guess a double drabble? His jeans were faded and a little rumpled. As my eyes wandered up I saw they barely hung on the edge of his narrow hips.
Then my eyes drank in the smooth, muscled perfection of his upper body where it glowed golden in the morning light.
Movement caught my eyes as he raised a finger to his lips and plunged it into his mouth, sucking it clean. I licked my own lips, imagining the sharp taste of oranges on that finger.
It was only then that I realized he was looking over his shoulder at me. His eyes shone with the look men get when they know they could do anything they wanted with you at that moment.
Suddenly a bell went off, making me jump. His blue eyes held amusement now as I felt embarrassment creep up my face.
Crossing the kitchen he placed a kiss on the top of my head and murmured, "Coffee first."

ETA : YES! Creating Custom Content - it was a major pain in the ass to learn, but being able to make your own world exactly as you see it in your mind is pretty damn awesome.

2. Creating Sims - making your own little beings is fun.

3. Creating Photo shoots - It's just fun

4. Creating Stories - I've decided to re-upload and fix the images for By Hope Dying. If someone ever comes up with an animation manipulator for the Sims 3 I may even start a new story, but kinda hard without one, I've tried :-(

5. Creating baby Sims from various parents to see what they look like - the results can be quite disturbing at times *lol*

Top 5 things to do if you won the lottery.
No amount was specified, so I've made two answers with two different amounts of winnings ;-)

If it was One Million...
1. Finish my house
2. Buy a 4-wheel truck
3. Buy the most awesome computer set up ever
4. Travel around the world, bringing friends with me for different legs of it
5. Put the rest in a high interest bearing account and live off the interest

If it was Ten or more Million...
1. Finish my house
2. Buy a 4-wheel truck
3. Buy the most awesome computer set up ever
4. Give my dad, both my brothers and Eva a million each
5. Travel around the world, bringing friends with me for different legs of it6. Put the rest in a high interest bearing account and live off the interest *lol*

Top 5 websites you visit.
This turned out to be the most difficult to answer because I don't go to a lot of web sites anymore. Well, other than my own that is *lol* and I didn't want to use any of my own sites in this list. So...

1. Dreamwidth - This is the first site I come to in the morning after making sure all my own sites are up and running.
2. My Sims3 Blog - Discovered this site about a month ago when my curiosity finally got the better of me and I did a search for my own Sims site. They are a listing site that lets you know what downloading sites have new items up. VERY convenient to only have to go to the one site!
3. Zinio - I don't get magazines up here, so I keep an eye on whats available online.
4. Canada Post - I get a lot of packages via the mail, so I check to see if they have arrived or not constantly when I'm expecting something.
5. LiveJournal - If people would move to Dreamwidth I wouldn't come here anymore, but I understand that some people have permanent accounts (as do I), plus many communities don't seem inclined to move so... *sigh*</div>

This is what Gerard does so well, creating the atmosphere, a moment where you know something incredibly beautiful is going to happen.

Top 5 movies.

1. Life As A House (2001) : Kevin Kline, Hayden Christensen
This one is exactly where it should be on my list, at #1. I LOVE THIS FILM. Which makes no sense right? I mean it's totally a father, son bonding film, and I'm neither of those *lol* But the relationship between Kline and Christensen pulls me in so deep every time, it feels so real while I watch it's almost uncomfortable, like seeing something private that I shouldn't but I can't look away. I like that the story didn't hold back, but didn't go overboard. I like that the characters really could live next door, and you'd never know it if you weren't looking. Hm, yeah *goes to turn the DVD player on*

2. Goodbye, Mr. Chips (1939) : Robert Donet, Greer Garson
Yep, here we go, oh yeah, the tears are coming just thinking about this film. Every time. EVERY FREAKIN' TIME I start bawling at about 40 minutes in. Doesn't matter that I've seen it a million times, know the story like the back of my own hand, the scene on the top of the mountain comes up and the tears start of fall. Robert Donet is absolute PERFECTION in this role, and it is absolute INSANITY that others have even attempted it since.

3. Tank Girl (1995) : Lori Petty, Naomi Watts, Malcolm McDowell
Fun. Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun! I love that it's completely fantastical, yet oddly possible. I like the color and pace and comic look of it. I like that I was a pretty freaky little chick when this came out, yet the characters made me feel ordinary and boring *lol*

4. Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory (1971) : Gene Wilder, Peter Ostrum, Jack Albertson
This film both thrilled and terrified me as a child, and still does. When Willy Wonka sings some of those songs...*shudders* and Mr. Slugworth *gah*. This film is like sweet torture to me, I know I'm going to have nightmares afterwards, but I just can't help myself, I have to watch!

5. Grosse Point Blank (1997) : John Cusack, Joan Cusack, Dan Aykroyd, Alan Arkin
As far as I'm concerned this film is comic perfection. The script is perfection, the cinematography is perfection, the characters are cast and played to perfection, right down to the supporting roles. If I need a pick-me-up, this one does it every time.

</user></user></user>

Reading up a storm

I've been tearing my way through the Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter books. I'm up to book 8, Blue Moon, which I just started last night. And I'm feeling a little frustrated. I thought I had read up to book 9, Obsidian Butterfly, but apparently not. I had only read up to book 6, The Killing Dance.

In The Killing Dance is when Anita finally, FINALLY! has sex with Jean-Claude *le sigh*. It was just as wet and wonderful as I remembered. I personally don't like Richard the Werewolf, so was super happy she didn't choose him. So I go into book 7, Burnt Offerings, thinking "yeah! now we get lots of Jean-Claude sex!" and what do I get? NOTHING! Not even a half decent make-out scene! I mean yeah sure, Anita makes out and kisses every other male character in the book (and there are A LOT of them) both good and evil, but I get no Jean-Claude satisfaction *ugh!*

As far as I could tell Burnt Offerings was just an excuse for the author (Laurell Hamilton) to vent out all her kissing, rape and torture fantasies all at once. Now I'm not criticizing her use of rape and torture, I am the person who wrote Do It Yourself Bitch after all so I hardly have the right, but having it happen to practically every other person is kind of excessive, and it does loose it's impact and [purpose?] after a couple victims.

And now in Blue Moon Anita is running off to a different city to save Richard the Werewolf (ugh, why can't he go away?) who is in jail for, you guessed it, rape *rolls eyes*. So I'm guessing I'm not going to get any Jean-Claude sex in this one either? *double ugh!* I feel very suspicious that Hamilton is setting it up so Anita gets together with Richard and dumps Jean-Claude. If that happens I'll be pissed, and I don't think I'll keep reading.

Having lots of fun with JC!Month though! Nice to see the regulars are still involved. I have about half the Mood Icons made for my posts at the site. I can see myself having trouble finding media to go with some of them though. Like Thoughtful, have no clue what video to put with that *lol*

I'm working on some caps for The Making Of The Ghost Of You as well, which is taking some time to get through.

The little brother has broken up with his girlfriend. Good thing they called off the wedding last month. *lol* Seems she thought Shaun was too clingy because after having not seen her for almost a month (they live on different islands so it's difficult) he wanted to go over and spent the holiday weekend with her? O...kay. And there was something about her not liking how much time Shaun spends playing computer games? Um, yeah, Shaun does nothing BUT play computer games all day. He co-founded and runs one of the largest fan created World Of Warcraft sites. It's what he does. Clearly she thought she was going to mold him into someone else. Um, no. *kicks biotch to the curb*

Edit : oh and her name was Alison (same as Scott's girlfriend, guess that's why I couldn't remember), of course I remember it now that they have broken up *lol*

So I now have no holiday plans in place for this year. So, do I make new plans or spend the money on something else? What to do...hmm...

Said Goodbye To TSR

    <lj:music>Bon Iver : Lump Sum</lj:music>

So I quit TSR back on the 4th. I know that's probably a shock for some people, but it's actually been a long time coming. I actually kinda quit last fall without saying anything, and now wish I had just stayed gone. I tend to give things/people chance after chance after chance. But I just never felt 100% comfortable there, never felt totally wanted. Correction, my creations were welcome, just not me. So, yeah, disappointing but, whatever.

They aren't letting me go easily of course. They want me to take some time and think about it. But I`ve been thinking about quitting for almost a year now, and the issues I have with them aren`t the kind you just `fix`.

So I've gone back to mine and Eva's old TS2 site and added a TS3 section, The Land Of WOE. I decided to set the site up in sections according to my own long-term projects. At the moment I have sections for The Dump, the Warehouse, Set Dec and The Crew (which has items I made specifically for my Sims). There's about a dozen items at the moment.

I think I'll be happier doing my own thing, at my own speed, in my own way. And it's totally a two burner counter top cooker! So of course I immediately went back to the grocery store and bought some cans of tomato soup and crackers to throw it there *lol* So yummy.

Spent the whole day re-arranging and cleaning my tiny kitchen to fit it in. So, yeah, guess I don't need the church ladies cooking me spaghetti anymore (ok, a little bummed about that *lol*).

ETA: just decided I'm definitely ripping the wood stove out of the kitchen.
On my way back from getting paint in Hope I noticed the Dogwood trees were in bloom near Alexandra Bridge. So yesterday I drove down to get some photos. Unfortunately the Dogwoods flowers had already started getting brown around the edges, so I ended up taking photos of the Old and New bridges instead. On the trail down to the old bridge I spotted a dogwood where someone had spray painted one of the flowers orange (???). And a couple pictures of some of the tulip escapee's that are slowly making their way towards the upper pasture each year *lol*

Weirdness With Books

I seem to have a talent lately for picking books to read that end up being weird experiences for me *lol* Like with the Twilight series of books I read last summer; by far the worst written books I have ever read. In fact most fan fiction is better written *lol* And OMG could Stephanie Meyer be more long winded! Yes, I got it the twentieth time, Edward is perfect! I don't need to be told twenty more times *ugh* Totally frustrating to read, and yet, I couldn't stop reading. WTF? Not like me at all to continue with something that is pissing me off, but I wanted to know what happened next!

Same is kinda happening with The Vampire Diaries. <strike>Yes, they are a complete and utter rip-off of the Twilight books</strike>(confusion in the brain as usual, should say Twilight ripped off TVD). From the start I have hated the main character Elena (in the book she is nothing like the character in the TV show). She is a snobby, self-obsessed twit. You know things aren't going well with a book when you want the main character to die... painfully, after only a couple chapters *lol* But I persisted, mostly because I don't have anything else new to read and am desperate.

The writing is better than Twilight, but the characters are so predictable and obvious, there's no way to connect with them. At least not in the first two books. All of a sudden in the third one, about chapter 5, the story becomes great?! Characters started being fleshed out, given depth to their personalities, the story develops twists and less predictability. It's almost like a completely different writer took over... hm... who is LJ Smith anyways?

In any case, I'm thoroughly enjoying the books now and can't seem to put them down for long *lol*

Almost all the spending money I had budgeted for this year, gone. But I don't care because OMGIMSOOOOHAPPY!!!

OK, first of all, CHRIS ANTHONY was on my lil' old MCR site and contacted me! He is sooooo up there on my list of fav photographers and I went straight into fan girl heaven. He finally got his new online store up and running and, what does he have on it? Only my top three fav photos of his available as limited edition prints. LIKE I couldn't buy them all!

Emily #1

Venice #20

The Black Parade

Venice #20 is perfect for my bathing room. It's the right size for the one wall I have in there and the light grey of the photo will go well with the dark grey walls. Emily #1 will go in my sleeping nook, and The Black Parade in the living room.

*sigh* Happy, but clearly I need to figure out a way to make some money this year *lol*

ETA: wait a second, he was on my ahistoryof site, that means... he may have seen MY photography! ack! *dies of embarrassment*

My internet has been dead since last night so I'm posting this from the library. So sorry for being a little rushed, we only get 15 minutes (there's two people glaring at me right now waiting their turn, 0|0). Here's my entry for the challenge.

The Promise

"Ten minutes Mr. Kirkpatrick."

"Okay, thanks."

Chris turned back to the mirror, this time carefully aligning each button to it's rightful hole. Finishing the task, correctly this time, he tucked his shirt into his pants and started rooting around in his travel bag for the case his cufflinks were in.

So far so good. Geez, when's the last time I wore cufflinks... Oh. Right.

Looking up at the mirror, he searched his own eyes for any sign of the emptyness he had been hiding there for so many years.

Still good. Just a little longer and I'll have kept my promise.

His hand curled around the hard shape of the cufflink case.

"Gotcha."

Flipping the lid open, he caught his breath, sighed. One finger stretched out to nudge the string of shiny pink beads that were tangled inside. His mind wandered back, to a dollar store somewhere in the mid-west.

It was one of those jumbo sized ones, warehouse big and stuffed from floor to ceiling with every item you could possibly think of... and then some you would have never thought of. He had been searching the place for almost twenty minutes now and was getting annoyed.

"Where the hell... oh for Pete's sake!"

Chris finally spotted him, intently hunched over a display rack in the makeup department.

"There you are. I shoulda known you'd be in the womens section." Chris smirked. The grinning face that turned to him wasn't the least bit fazed by his comment, which oddly both irked and pleased Chris at the same time.

"Look at these!" A handful of shiny, colorful, beaded bracelets were waved under his nose.

"They're Chinese Healing Bracelets! See here? It says that the different stones can help with different ailments. I think I'm gonna get..."

Anyone else and Chris would be having the time of his life ridiculing them for being so gullable. Not him though. His enthusiasm was just so damn infectious! His smile, too real.

"Whoa, wait a minute. Your not getting that one are you?!"

"Um, yeah."

"Why! Why not get that blue one?"

The eyes staring at him didn't even blink.

"Because the blue one is for arthritis. I don't have arthritis. This one helps with circulation, which I think you'll agree I need."

Chris stared at the pink beads and sighed. Of course it does.

"Fine. Come on."

Chris quietly slipped the bracelet over his hand, remembering the last words whispered from a hospital bed.

"Live life for me."

He blinked, swallowed.

"I did. Just the way you would have."

There was a knock at the door, then it was opened.

"We need you now Mr. Kirkpatrick."

"Okay."

As he walked through the door of the dressing room and into the backstage area, he could hear Bono's voice from the stage.

"...a multi-platinum selling performer, writer, and producer, it is my great honor to present Chris Kirkpatrick with the highest honor the recording industry can bestow..."

Chris managed a small smile.

A promise is a promise. We did it JC.

But he starts out commenting about fansites, and I would just like to point out that he uses the word 'passionate' TWICE while doing so. ;-P *becauseofcoursehewasthinkingofMYsitebeamsproudlyWHAT?itsmyfantasysobuggeroff!*
