Helium 14.2 beta now available

The main goal with this version is support for case-sensitive MySql/MariaDB databases.

Previously Helium has required a specific flag to be set to force table names to be case-insensitive, something that was not always easy nor possible to change for example when having the database located on a NAS running on a Unix based operating system.

Helium 14.2 should adress this and allow MySql/MariaDb databases to be created on “any” supported platform.

This beta version also comes with some other major improvements such as:

  • Improved read support for legacy ID3v2.2 tags (often used from iTunes). The main ID3v2.2 tags shall now be properly read and usable in Helium.
  • Improved support for MediaMonkey ratings which uses another range compared to the standards.
  • Threading improvements and progress improvements in the Joiner tool
  • Various component upgrades

As usual, we have also corrected issues reported from users and made some minor improvements.
