Hot October

Last year was a hot October weather-wise. I was told climate had gone crazy and that it was supposed to be windy and cold in the afternoon but no, no wind, sometimes chilly but not as cold as it was expected. That allowed many to make use of shorts and the like and the result was lots of distraction when driving, shopping and having lunch on the terrace… Experts are still trying to find out about what could have been the distractors.

Maybe Trump should be told about Fake climate change… *wondering…

Piazza di Spagna

One hundred and thirty five steps. No I did not count them but it is known since Pope Benedict XIII inaugurated the Spanish steps sometime in 1725, no he did not count the steps either. Purpose? To connect the church of Trinita dei Monti to the Bourbon Spanish embassy (In case you are wondering, they did not count the steps either.)

Inside-Out : Coliseum

Wondering about how good the Coliseum looks on the outside? I was surprised on how it looks on the inside, filled with corridors, levels, sites, senator’s name plates, … and  the underground where they kept the lions, the slaves and the gladiators.

Fascinated by one of the cradles of civilization.

Resting Bikes

Bicycles everywhere. Reminds me of an Italian movie about bicycle thieves and how hard it was to find a stolen one. Nevertheless these are happy times and no one wants what is not theirs to keep. A street in Rome.

The Coliseum, an unusual look.

This is the Coliseum as seen from one of the streets that connect with it. You see, the Coliseum is surrounded by other historic sites and by streets with just regular houses, so this magnificent construction is part of the Italians daily life.

Haciendo el tiempo – Building Time.

Posted by Cedric de Alicoque on January 10, 2018

I found this old post, when I didn’t know what my blog was going to be about, so I wrote.

Now after almost eight years I find these lines beautiful, so I’ll share them with you:

I would like to be a grain of sand

that goes down by the clock.

Hold myself to glass, not slipping, slowing down the time

that runs through you.

I would like to stack myself in the grains,

be your last moment

and know what you said about me. *****

e tu sai cosa hai detto di me ****

Hoy 2018.

Rentals

From scooters to bicycles and petit cars.

In Rome, many sightseeings are close to each other, so you can walk, take the subway or alternative transportation. You can rent the bikes from the city which are much cheaper if you are going to use them for long. For a short bicycle cruise, a rental is ok.

How should I start my year?

This is my seventh year blogging, sometimes with stops and other times with many photographs. A new year with many plans, let’s start right.
