A Week of Smiles: Day Six
Shamrocks for Muscular Dystrophy has always been an important cause for me, and the charity drive has supported real research, therapy, and assistive technology options for people. I remember canvasing neighborhoods with my mom as a child, raising money by knocking on doors, and seeing how kind people can be. The positivity chain yesterday gave me an idea.
I want to give it a try and I hope you follow along with me. Just post one thing a day that makes somebody smile. A clean joke or a silly story. Even a photo that makes you chuckle. I will be collecting all of these items in an attributed post as an end of week roundup. The only requirement is that you post something positive. Something you’d feel fine reading out loud at a family event. If you want to play along, tag me in your positive post. Or don’t. It’s completely up to you, just anything to add to the pile of smiles.
At the bottom of each of my posts, I’m going to include a link to the Shamrocks campaign for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. MDA now supports research and care for people living with muscular dystrophy, ALS, spinal muscular atrophy, Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, myasthenia gravis, and dozens of other neuromuscular conditions.
March is also Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month. That one’s personal for me, too. My friends, my family, we’ve all been touched by this disease and the toll it takes on people. If you’d like to learn more or support MS research directly, you can visit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Accelerated Cure Project for Multiple Sclerosis.
I’m not pretending life is easy. I’m just choosing, for one week, to put something good out there and to support people living with neurological conditions while I’m at it.
One smile a day. We can do this.

There is a section of the multiverse that is nothing but lost socks.
Thanks for the smiles, Mack.
