PINWHEEL ANIMATION TUTORIAL

Sorry I have been MIA for a while.. here is a tutorial!

This tutorial I'll teach you how to make an animation such as:

USING PHOTOSHOP AND IMAGEREADY!!!

Originally I was going to teach you all how to make the pinwheel to start with, but I'm lazy and THIS is an amazing tutorial for it!

However, I made two perfect ones for me to use and saved it as an image [or you could save it as a brush, but I think the image is easier] and use them. So I'm going to start with that!

STEP ONE:
You already made your first pinwheel. I recommend making the image super big [I do about 500x500] I cut mine down only for the purpose of this tutorial.

STEP TWO:
Now, you have to invert the black/white colors so you can have it to animate with! So, I duplicate the pinwheel layer [make sure everything is merged!] Then with the top layer selected, I go to IMAGE/ADJUSTMENTS/INVERT [or ctrl+I for those keyboard shortcut lovers]. You will get an image that looks the same.. just colors swapped.

STEP THREE:
Now, you should have made your icon already.. so here is what I am using! +laffs+ I made it super quick to give you all some picture to see the steps with!

STEP FOUR:
Okay, go to you rpinwheel image and copy/paste both sets of pinwheels onto the icon you made. [remember, you have to select the whole canvas before you can copy!] Set both layers to SCREEN [screen makes the black disappear andy ou can lower opacacy to your satisfaction.] I lowered opacacy to: 50 so you would really be able to see the pinwheel, it looks super funny now but ehre you go:

ANIMATION TIME
STEP FIVE:
Now, push the little button on the bottom of you rtoolbar that shoots your image to IMAGEREADY!!

STEP SIX:
Now, in IR, you should have your animation window up [if not: go to WINDOW/ANIMATION]. Click the little button that duplicates your animation frame. [highlighted in pink]

STEP SEVEN:
now, on your first frame remove the second layer pinwheel and on your second frame, remove the first layer and add on the second layer.

STEP EIGHT:
Now, select your first frame again and push the TWEEN button. A window will pop up and you will put in your settings [mine are below!]

STEP NINE:
Repeat step eight with the second frame selected, and make sure in your tween button is says FIRST FRAME in the TWEEN WITH drop down box!

STEP TEN:
Highlight all the frames [you can click one, hold SHIFT and click the last one] and use the drop down menu to choose which speed you want it to go at, I use .1

STEP ELEVEN:
Now, view your animation and save optimized as!

sorry it has been a while, I've been slacking. I know. I've had these done but I have been too involved making graphics to make resources [forgive me loves!] I make @ wickpixgraphics now, it's a really awesomely ran comm, one of the best I've ever made at. And it is perfect for giving me practice. [yes, shameless plug!]

Pattern Set 3

NOTE: I can make a pattern image pack for paintshop pro users, it will consist of the pattern on a 10x10 image, which is the base size of my patterns for now, and you would have to turn them into a pattern on your own, IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED, I WILL MAKE ONE!!

THESE WERE MADE IN PHOTOSHOP WITH A .PAT FILE

What I did was made a file that contains the TWENTY patterns that I made into ONE ITEM. Meaning, when you go to add the patterns to your patterns [through preset manager] - you click one file and recieve TWENTY patterns. Add them directly to your preset manager and you can add them to a banner/text or whatever you wish. =o))

If anyone needs a guide on how to USE patterns once they are uploaded, feel free to comment and I will make one. =o))

Sorry for another boring mod post. I just wanted to keep you all updated.

I am in the process of making:
1 gradient set
1 pattern set
1 100x100 texture set [light]
1 100x100 texture set [not light]
~~1 large texture set [light]~~
1 large texture set [not light]
~~1 brush set.~~

since we hit over 100 watchers. I will post them all on their own posts like I always have but they will be exclusive here for a week or so, and I'll post them one by one on other comms.

If there is ANYTHING you all would like to see.. .tutorials, certain brushes, certian textures, more of something. LET ME KNOW!!! I will be having mondays free to myself except for occassional doctors appointments. I actually started this monday and that was when I started making these sets... but I had a LOT of errands to do then. ANYWAYS. LET ME KNOW OF ANYTHING YOU WANT TO SEE!!! ANYTHING!!!

I plan on making a bunch of neat things to post when we hit a certain amount of WATCHERS, not members as I am keeping all posts public, you really don't NEED to join. I think it will be fun but I'm not sure how to go about it yet. I want to thank everyone for supporting me by watching/downloading/commenting when you nab anything. It's super exciting for me to have almost 100 watchers, especially after being on hiatus for so long!! I really do appologize for all that. I am super excited about doing so well here and I do hope I can figure out what to do for my resource blow out I plan on having when we hit that number.

If you do use my resources/tutorials, I would LOVE being added to your resource page [or somewhere, if you have it]. Simply linking back to impari would be fabulous. =o)) Thank you all again!!

Loading Resources Guide!

PHOTOSHOP ONLY!!

How to load GRADIENTS, BRUSHES and PATTERNS into photoshop!
[using photoshop cs2]

For all 3 of them.
Open photoshop.
Go to EDIT/PRESET MANAGER.
Use the drop down box to select which area you would like to visit [ie: patterns]
Click LOAD.
Find the folder you saved your resource to.
Click the file and hit LOAD.
MAKE SURE YOU HIT DONE!
=o)

If you would like pictures or have any questions, feel free to let me know.
I figured I would make this as I am working on a PATTERN set as I type. =x

Large Light Textures Group #2

since they cut off my internet this morning, i was bored and able to throw a texture pack together for you all. I'm pretty sure I'm going to start posting patterns I made. Probably in big sizes and maybe even the actual pattern itself, if I can figure THAT one out. +laffs+ I also want to make gradients if I can get that to work too, that would be swell!! Anyways, on to the goods! EDIT: I just figured out how to save the patterns I make as a set and same with gradients, like you do with brushes!! So, I'll show examples of my patterns/gradients on a random sized square area, but it will come with the actual pattern/gradient file so you can save them into your own files and use them directly. =o)

I've been playing around in photoshop!! +squee+ So I made some BIG light textures. Remember, you can always cut down the textures to 100x100 if you want & you can make a new layer and fill it with a pattern/gradient/solid color & set it to color and it will change the colors. ENJOY!!!

Coloring Tutorial #10

Ello everyone!!
Sorry it has been a while, but I' mtrying to get back into the swing of things. I made this a few days ago when I was trying to mess around with photoshop. I've been having a problem with it on vista... it is running really slow and freezes too.. so I'm hopeing to get a new laptop sometime soon [but I'm not holding my breath] - that way I can lay down&rest and make things! =o))

Anyways...

TRANSLATABLE!!

STEP ONE: Crop/resize your picture if you need to.

STEP TWO: Duplicate the background picture and set the layer to SOFT LIGHT [NOTE If your picture is dark or darkish, try using SCREEN instead to lighten it up!]

STEP THREE: Make a new layer, fill it with the color #fadba5 & set to MULTIPLY

STEP FOUR: Make another new layer, fill it with the color #cbcbfb & set it to COLOR BURN [or just BURN if you are using PSP]

STEP FIVE: Make another new layer, fill it with the color #faa5d7 & set it to SOFT LIGHT

STEP SIX: Duplicate your background picture again and set the layer to SOFT LIGHT [NOTE If your picture is dark or darkish, try using SCREEN instead to lighten it up!]

STEP SEVEN: Make another new layer, fill it with the color #02124e and set it to EXCLUSION

STEP EIGHT: Make a new brightness/contrast layer.. and mess around with the settings to get it to work with your picture... I used +15 on both.

STEP NINE: Now you are done and ready to add text or anything else you wish. Of course you can change settings/colors/order of layers or eliminate steps.. this is just one thing you can do with these layers. ENJOY!!

OTHER EXAMPLES OF THE COLORING
note - these are my personal pictures so don't steal them & the one on the left has the background picture layers set at screen instead of softlight!]

ps: These are more blueish because the pictures had more colors in them and the main image - it was mainly white.. The exlusion layer is what makes it that way, so you can cut that step out if you have a colorful picture!
