I have begun to think that God is small
\nlike a wren, a piece of blue
\nbeach glass
\nshining in the wet
\nof sea and sky, that double exposure. Every day<\/p>\n

the huge sun, the blue vault brimming
\nwith invisible stars.
\nEach night the echoing expanse
\nof dark and always God in the palm of my hand,
\nfluttering, gleaming like the soul<\/p>\n

with sweetness, with a vast
\nreluctance to change us or give us
\nanything but that sweetness, despised
\nby the world
