hay guys? srs rp questions, for the rpers on the flist. it'd be cool if you can spare the time to take a look but i do ramble on a bit under the cut so don't sweat it if you don't wanna, bbs.

SO LATELY idk i've been talking to people and rp isn't working out for some of us. i'm not implying that whoever-it-is-you-are-currently-reading-this is going through this, but i'm definitely having difficulty with rp lately. i mean on one hand i'm having a great time museboxing with individual people, but i can' seem to integrate myself into a game. i don't think i was built for that kind of environment, maybe, i just can't seem to click with new people that well, but i do want to really be in a game, with more than one person I can interact and build CR with.

some of you!! may remember that i've been working on an l4d-based game thing. it's definitely still there, regardless of what you may think, even if it's been in the back of my head for like maybe a year. less than that, but yeah. i've been fairly secretive about it and keeping most info on my hard drive, or asking for opinions from my irl-writer friends rather than my rpers because i'M NERVOUS AND INSECURE AS FUCK. but flist, my question is this: if i open it up to you guys as a sort of a private game, would any of you be interested?

i know all of you already, the app will exist but it'd be pretty low-key, you can invite your own friends but it'd be a pretty small, quiet thing. in other words it'd be A CIRCLEJERK but what the fuck ever, amirite. the plot i have in mind for this is pretty complicated, npc-intensive and with an actual path, and i'd be able to run it just like i'd run a tabletop game, except you know. on lj.

if you, like me, have any friends that are looking to get into rp/ljrp but don't know where to start, it'd be a good way, too, since we'd all be rather slack as a bunch of friends hanging out.

idk! i just think it'd be, well, fun. it's easier on me since my main fear with modding this was with how to handle a plot if there were too many people, and how to attract people to the game to begin with, and how to... keep myself interested in it if lately i'm just rping for friends and with friends. then again, there's nothing WRONG with just wanting to rp with your buddies, so why should we punish ourselves for it?

it'd be more than just a communal musebox. plot, events, etc. activity checks, no, but i hope that people will take it seriously and idk will be motivated by the fun to be had to keep active. meeting new people who are friends of friends, yes. serious business, yes. crack at the same time, yes, in fact the mood i've been going for with this game is sort of black comedy. app whoever the fuck you want, yes. ocs, yes.

in other news, i've been... rediscovering why i used to be a 4chan addict. /b/ is addictive despite it not being nearly as fun as it used to be, i'm kind of part of the recent migration of /b/rothers into arcanines, and i'm loving it there. the new boards, /sci/ and /lit/ specifically? god, i love them.
