CSA, standing for Compliance, Safety, Accountability, is an FMCSA program designed to improve large truck and bus safety and ultimately reduce crashes. This course explains the components of the CSA program and how each is used in the Safety Measurement System. After completion, participants will be able to:
- Explain why CSA was developed
- Describe the components of the CSA program
- Describe what is measured in each CSA BASIC
- Explain how BASIC measures are weighted in the FMCSA’s Safety Measurement System
- Describe each of the different CSA interventions and when they occur
