✔️ The Sun Machine w/Hello Joyce Schizo-pop, third coast surf; call it whatever you want, but the music on The Sun Machine’s 2017 album, Turn On To Evil, sounds like twisted psychedelic rock to us. Just listen to the Beach Boys-esque harmonies that open “I Want To Do Drugs (With You),” the first track off the album the Austin, Texas quintet arrives in Ybor to support. If you’re a fan of Florida acts like FayRoy or the Woolly Bushmen, then you’ll want to be at The Bricks on Wednesday for this free show alongside Tampa indie-pop band Hello Joyce. House of I w/Citrus Horse/Toasted Rye Electric violin, guitar, synth bass and vocals get looped in with live drums and programmed beats over and again when Citrus Horse — a two-person indie-jam band featuring Alex Laugalis and Max Krespo — is on stage. The group plays a free show alongside experimental psych-rock band House of I and Riley Morgan, who brings his Toasted Rye solo project to open the free show. (The Bends, St. Petersburg) INFO

INTERVIEW
Clearwater welcomes pop star and actor Emily Kinney to Ruth Eckerd Hall

Emily Kinney w/Paul McDonald Breezy, minimalist pop music makes up a majority of Oh Jonathan, the vulnerable debut album from singer-songwriter and actor Emily Kinney (she played Beth Greene on The Walking Dead, AMC’s hit TV show which often featured her music) on which lyrics explore the concepts of lost youth and unrequited love. Kinney, 33, brings Alabama songwriter Paul McDonald to open on this show as part of a 40-date tour in support of the album. (Murray Theatre at Ruth Eckerd Hall, Clearwater) INFO
