John Gardiner Pieper passed away peacefully at his home on May 27, 2026, after a years-long battle with cancer. Over the course of his career, he helped tens of thousands of students pass the New York Bar Exam and then the Uniform Bar Exam, which New York first administered in July of 2016.

McEneney, whose nearly four-decade career helped shape the modern New York State court system, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026, in the Woodlawn neighborhood of the Bronx, at the age of 93.
