While I do appreciate the effort that my fellow Ravenclaw and prefect has taken to foster inter-House relationships, there are better ways to have gone about so than by non-consensually signing up your fellow students for the date auction.

Nevertheless. Since I find my name no less on the list than if I had put it there myself, I have to follow through with this absurdity. I encourage everyone to sign up if you would like someone to go with you to the date auction ~~and I encourage you to do it before someone else does it for you~~, and in particular I would be pleased to see a Ravenclaw name or two that my roommate didn't put up on the board.

If you do find yourself signed up non-consensually, ~~go to your prefect and~~ ~~come to me and~~ I encourage you to look on the bright side and use it as an opportunity to perhaps get to know a fellow student you wouldn't have otherwise.

O-oh. It seems I was selected to be Head Boy this year.

This is such an honour... I honestly... I've never even been Prefect before, ~~how did~~ I certainly wasn't expecting to be Head Boy. This year is shaping up to be quite exciting, indeed. Nonetheless, I'm sure that I've risen to taller challenges before. I was chosen out of my class to be Head Boy, and I will absolutely make sure that they don't regret that choice.

Touya Hikari, Head Boy. Well, it will look excellent on my resume, if nothing else.

Less than a week until my last year at Hogwarts begins. It's almost sad, how fast the time has flown.

I still remember the day that Jin came and sat with me, September first, seven years ago. He barged into my compartment without so much as a by-your-leave, flung himself into the adjacent seat, and hasn't shut up since.

And the world has changed around us, too. It's not just the long road to being an adult that's made the world seem a lot darker. I'm incredibly grateful that I still have my grandparents, my friend, and my health.

005 - An Invitation

Since Grandmother and Grandfather are still recovering from our recent trip to Japan, and I'm 17, I'm going to be making the annual trip to Diagon Alley unaccompanied this year.

That being said, I would like to take advantage of my newfound freedom to attempt to be social right before my last year at Hogwarts. To that end, I was wondering if anyone would like to meet me in the Leaky Cauldron so that we can go buy our school supplies together.

004 - Status Report

今日は -- that is to say, hello.

I've just returned to England after an exciting holiday in Japan with my grandparents. My summer has been largely uneventful, but I return from Japan with some sweets from the magical community there (which I explored while my grandparents were otherwise occupied).

It will be nice to spend a little bit of time with my parents before the summer ends and it's back to Hogwarts. I'm still in a bit of shock that this will be my last year (assuming I don't return in some other function in a few years).

~~I hardly know why I'm bothering to update this journal. No one likely cares what's become of me over the summer.~~

If I had to choose one thing about the end of the school year to be irritated by, it wouldn't be the exams. Oh, no. With enough studying and preparation, any exam can be surpassed as easily as avoiding a mere pebble in the middle of the path to a greater education.

No, it's the heat. I find myself casting cooling charms around my bed each night just to get a decent night's sleep. And it's only just the beginning of June.

[Touya's handwriting is very neat and tidy and small, with crisp lines. He crosses his uppercase Ts with an upwards slant. There are lots of snowflakes doodled in the upper corners of the pages, like a border. There are also ink smudges and splotches around the beginning of the first line, indicating that he was hesitating and looking for words, and doodling snowflakes while he thought.]

While studying for my finals, I've come to the abrupt realization that I have no idea of what I want to do with my life. None. Whatsoever. I'm almost done with my education, and while I've learned how to control my magic, that's...about the only thing.

[What's okay to mention around him/her] He's touchy about his race. Other than that, unless you start just outright insulting his honour/family/the dead, you're pretty good.
[Is there anything you need us to know about interacting with this character? Special physical features, special abilities, etc] He has blue/green hair. Yes, it's natural. No, he doesn't have any idea how. No, he's not a metamorphmagus. Also, he has an affinity toward the cold. His favourite spells are generally of a cold nature, and he much prefers the wintertime.
[Can I hack that strike or otherwise find out information they'd prefer to keep hidden?] Given his suspicious nature and ability to get a fairly decent read on people from their behaviour, unless you're specifically able to do that sort of thing I'm going to have to say tough luck.
[Can I troll/mindscrew/mess with in general?] Oh yes please! He was bullied all throughout his childhood - this is the first place he's even remotely stood a chance of fitting in. But he's aware that here, as in everywhere, there be monsters.
[Can I spit at/jinx/step on/etc? (i.e. fighting)] Would I be playing a character from a shonen anime (aka, would I have watched enough of it to want to) if I didn't like fighting? If you want to throw down, we can throw down.
[Can I flirt with/hug/kiss/use other means of non-violent physical contact with this character?] If you can get him that comfortable, yes. Or if you don't mind being hexed.
