Hold You In My Arms: A Luka/Abby Picspam

For picspammy's challenge #22: illustrate a song. I was recently watching some of ER's season 7, so I used Ray LaMontagne's Hold You In My Arms to picspam two extremely parallel Luka/Abby scenes, from the episodes Flight of Fancy and The Human Shield. I took some small liberties with the ordering of the song and the episodes, but that's just how it went down.

Also, I'd forgotten what a bitch ER is to color. For such a long-running and successful show, the lighting department must have had NO budget. I'm sure it doesn't help that I chose perhaps two of the darkest scenes in ER history...there's a reason fandom called Luka's apartment The Batcave, after all.

Anyway. Aw, ER. Aw, Luka/Abby. Sigh. Nostalgia.

The Ho Yay of Hawk & Trap: a picspam

For picspammy's twentieth challenge, tropes:

Hawkeye and Trapper of M*A*S*H are pretty much the epitome of Ho Yay. Ho Yay is defined as "any same-gender relationship that appears to be more than 'just good friends,'" or "alternately, those moments of plot, dialogue, acting, etc., that draw attention to possible homoerotic subtext in that relationship." Hawk/Trap certainly fits both definitions well. While I actually ship Hawkeye/BJ, if I had to pick a ship that was more truly canon (ie, who I think was actually banging whom in Korea), I'd have to pick Hawkeye/Trapper, hands down.

Being Human is one of those shows that I would have never watched had I not been able to sleep one very late night and just happened to stumble upon the entire thing on my free OnDemand. Sometimes, insomnia is a beautiful thing, because not discovering Being Human would have been very unfortunate. It seems, at first, like it could be a bad joke: A vampire, a werewolf, and a ghost ~~walk into a bar~~ rent a flat together. But it's actually a pretty incredible show. It's decidedly un-Twilight. And one of the best parts of it is the character of Annie. She's snarky and tragic and sweet and confused. She's sexy. And she's a ghost.

So now I present, for picspammy's thirteenth challenge ("Something Different"), Annie Sawyer in the first episode of Being Human.

In season 1 of Torchwood, Ianto is sadly underused, and keeps his clothing understated to fit his role on the team. Red ties are pretty much the limit. But he rocks them. Oh, yes he does:

It's not until the second to last episode of the season that we see him taking on a more integral role, and putting a little more color into his wardrobe:

Enter season 2, where Ianto gets to play with guns, becomes much more than just the Torchwood butler, and gets to completely rock the (shades of) red. (Oh, and he gets to shag Jack a lot, too, but unfortunately, that is not the focus of this picspam.)

And like he tells Martha, red is definitely his color.
