Before I ask this question, I just wanted to thank everyone that answered my question about graphics programs :).

On to the question: I downloaded the trail version of PSP and I'm having some trouble using it. When I add a new layer and fill it in and then change the blend - let's say to soft light - the image itself's color changes but the color of the background doesn't change. It just stays - in this case - white.

I was wondering if anyone could help me fix this.
