Translatable to all programs
prepare your image, I will be using a hayden panettiere image. This tutorial only works on dark backgrounds and white backgrounds. ( see the examples below )
make a new layer and fill it with the color #4f213c and set it to exclusion
Make a new curves layer:
RGB-
Plot a point and fill it in with the settings, Input:142 Output:191
Red-
Plot a point and fill it in with settings, Input:166 Output:160
Plot another point and fill it in with the settings, Input: 86 Output:58
If you do want to use it on a busy background, you have to adjust the brightness/contrast. For the second example I lowered the brightness to -11.
