Text Problem

I just started having this problem in PSP7, and was wondering if there was a way to fix it.

I'll type out my text, and click OK, and it'll come up okay. And when I go to Modify>Expand, it comes out like this:

And its the same even if I go to Modify>Expand>Feather.
