I also started a LJ for myself so please leave comments/feedback as it would be much appreciated, I worked hard on this!! :D
And here we go!
NOTE: ALWAYS adjust to your base, don't follow directions exact! & Please post your results!
STEP ONE ~ duplicate your base - set to screen 100%
duplicate screen layer - set to screen 25% [make sure this turns it kind of bright, trust me!]
STEP TWO ~ new layer - softlight 100% - #fffc00 [turns really yellow]
STEP THREE ~ new adjustment layer - selective colour
R -100, 40, 100, 100
Y -7, 0, -25, 0
N 100, -7, -80, 36
STEP FOUR ~ duplicate selective color layer - set to normal 100% [turns it really blue]
STEP FIVE ~ new adjustment - selective color
R -100, 0, -22, 18
STEP SIX ~ duplicate selective colour layer #2 - set to normal and make the % as you desire
STEP SEVEN ~ duplicate base - drag to top -set to softlight 100% [duplicate this layer once if needed]
STEP EIGHT ~ new adjustment - hue/sat - reds 10-100%, yellow - decrease to liking
STEP NINE ~ Merge, and doge/sharpen eyes. Voila!
NOTES:
- you don't always have to duplicate the selective color layers but it turns more bold when you do
- i always color the full picture and then resize to fit icons to my liking.
