Hilarie Burton- Icon Tutorial

Here a icon tutorial of the lovely Hilarie Burton.

Uses: Hue/Saturation, fill layers
Difficulty: easy



Step #1
Find a picture and resize, crop, sharpen, etc. I used this image from here. I cropped it to 100x100 and sharpened it once.

Step #2
Duplicate your base layer (ctrl-j) and drag it on top.
Set this layer to SOFT LIGHT, opacity 100%

Layer> New Adjustment Layer> Hue/Saturation
Use these settings, changing only the saturation-
Master: 20
Reds: 25
Yellows: -10
Cyans: 23
Blues: 31
Set this layer to NORMAL, opacity 100%

Layer> New Fill Layer> Solid Color
Fill it with 020b4d or a bright, dark blue
Set this layer to EXCLUSION, opacity 100%

Layer> New Fill Layer> Solid Color
Fill it with 4d2e2d or brown
Set this layer to SOFT LIGHT, opacity 100%

Fill it with cdf3f3 or a very light blue
Set this layer to COLOR BURN, opacity 83%

Fill it with 050823 or a dark, navy blue
Set this layer to EXCLUSION, opacity 100%

Fill it with fdb969 or a light orange/peachy color
Set this layer to SOFT LIGHT, opacity 79%

Fill it with be96b7 or a light purple
Set this layer to SOFT LIGHT, opacity 24%

Fill it with b1f4f7 or a bright, light blue
Set this layer to COLOR BURN, opacity 100%

I added some text to mine.
I used violation, 12 pt. for "hilarie"
and century gothic, 11 pt. for "burton"
