Johno tutorial
Using the GIMP. Color balance, Levels, color fills. 2 textures.
Start off with your base. Mine was made by me :)
Depending on your image, you might want to duplicate your base and set it to Screen 100%, which is what I did.
Make a Color balance layer with these settings.
Midtones: -50, -20, +30
Shadows: -40, -20, -30
Highlights: -10, +10, +15
Now make another Color Balance layer.
Midtones: +20, -20, +15
Highlights: -30, -15, -10
Now a Levels layer...
BLUES, Output Levels: +40, +233
New layer - fill with #ffd43d - Soft Light 30%.
New layer - fill with #3d8fff - Soft Light 30%.
New layer - fill with #ff3d62 - Soft Light 30%.
Add this texture:
Made by
poisonblue.Set it to Hard Light 50%.
I took this texture:
Made by Smuffle.
I dragged it down to the bottom and set it to Screen 100%.
Next I added some text. I put "John" in the font Two Turtle Doves (can be downloaded here) in size 35 with the color #295190.
There! You're done! Here is my finished product:
