BELLA SWAN & EDWARD CULLEN TUTORIAL.
So I started with an image of Bella and Edward from the movie Twilight.
1. I started the image off by pasting in the image of Robert and touching up the background with black. I pasted the image of Kristen in and set the layer to 'Lighten'. I created a new layer under the layer of Kristen and painted some of it black where I wanted her to be more prominent. This gives the image a well balanced feel.
to
2. Create a new layer and fill it with #a06900 and set the layer to 'Exclusion'. I left the opacity at 100%. Don't worry it is supposed to be a crazy color.
to
3. Create a new layer and fill it with #f0bc08 and set the layer to 'Multiply'. I set the opacity to 20%. This layer neutralizes some of the stronger blues of the image.
to
4. I copied my original base (from step one) and set it above the two previous layers, I set the layer to 'Overlay'. If you do not how to do this step I will explain. Turn off your 'exclusion' and 'multiply' layers. You should only see your base, hit Shift+Ctrl+C. This will select your entire image. Paste this copy on top of your previous layers and set it to 'Overlay'. Don't forget to turn your previous layers back on.
to
5. Create a new Channel Mixer layer (Layer - New Adjustment layer - Channel Mixer) I used the following settings.
Red: +79, +21, +2, 0
Green: +1, +97, -5, 0
Blue: -5, 2, 100, 0
to
6. Create a new Color Balance later (Layer - New Adjustment layer - Color Balance) I used the following settings.
Midtones: -12, -9 -16
Shadows: -7, -14, 18
Highlights: -15, -3, 6
to
7. I took this texture and set it to 'Lighten' at 69% opacity.
to
8. I took this texture, quickly created by me and set the layer to 'Lighten' and 6% opacity.
to
9. Create a new layer and fill it with #ea3d3d and set the layer to 'Multiply'. I set the opacity to 10%. This layers add some pretty pink highlights to the skin.
to
10. Create a new layer and fill it with a gradient, I used these colors #c77b57 and #bb5a4a. I set the layer to 'Lighten' and the opacity to 10%.
to
11. I duplicated the previous gradient layer and changed the duplicate to 'Color Burn' and set the opacity at 13%.
to
12. Take this texture and set the layer to 'Color Burn'. I placed my opacity at 39% but if your icon is too dark than adjust accordingly.
to
13. Duplicate the previous layer and set the duplicate to 'Soft Light'. My opacity is at 38%, this layer adds some light to the background.
to
14. Create a new layer and fill it with a gradient, I used these colors #18d39c and #7b7310. I set the layer to 'Luminosity' and the opacity to 11%.
to
15. Create a new layer and fill it with #e9cf1b and set the layer to 'Multiply'. I set the opacity to 25%. This layer adds some much needed yellow to the skin.
to
16. Create a new layer and fill it with #aacc37 and set the layer to 'Color Burn'. I set the opacity to 6%. This layer adds some contrast and neutralizes the colors, anything above 6% will be too much.
