Venus Tutorial
A simple tutorial on how to make this icon using PSP7:
Start with Base image:
Duplicate the Base image and desaturate. Set to Screen mode at 90% opacity.
Create a new layer above the top layer and fill with color #638363. Set to Lighten mode.
Create another layer above the top layer and fill with color #AB3F50. Set to Light mode.
Above the top layer, place the following gradient (from
crumblingwalls) set to Hard Light mode.
Merge all layers, and duplicate layer. Desaturate top layer and set to Soft Light mode.
Create a new layer and add your text. I used the font 18th Century on 7pt Bold Italic with color #E4768F for "My Own Personal". I applied a white drop shadow using offset +1/+1, 100% opacity, and 1.0 blur. For "Venus", I used the font Porcelain on 44pt Bold Italic with color #E4768F. I applied a white drop shadow using offset +1/+1, 100% opacity, and 1.0 blur.
The end result should look something like this:
