Tutorial #1

Its my first tutorial, so let me know what you think! I use Photoshop 7.0, but I think its translateable.

I started off with a tutorial that I really liked from nalazhar, which you can find here. I changed some things along the way, but I still wasn't liking how it looked. (Using this picture). So from that tutorial this was my result:

Using this picture, these are the steps I took:

Step 1: There was way too much blue, so I went to Layer>>New Adjustment Layer>> Hue/Saturation.
Greens: +14
Cyans: -23
Blues: -100

Step 2: The image was still a little bland and I wanted to do something with the reds. So I went to Layer>>New Adjustment Layer>> Selective Color.
Red: -87, -37, 100, 68
Yellows: -100, 28, 100, 9
Greens: 80, 80, 100, 39
Whites: 30, -35, 13, 0
Neutrals: -2, -9, -1, -1
Blacks: -7, -8, 0, 7

Step 3: To enhance the reds and greens a bit more, I did another Selective Color Layer.
Red: -31, -6, 99, 54
Greens: 65, 0, 0, 0

Step 4: I wanted to lighten the image without washing out there faces so I added a new Fill Layer.  I filled it with D8CCB4, set on Soft Light at 50%.

Step 5: I wanted a bit more of a green tint so I filled it with 89BC83 on Soft Light at 50%. Their faces got a bit too green, so I lowered the opacity of my eraser and erased the fill layer on top of their faces, until I thought it looked alright.

Step 6: Finally, to balance it out I added a Color Balance Layer.
Midtones: 10, 7, 3
Shadows: 5, -4, -2
Highlights: -2, -2, -2

And you're done! Let me know what your results look like! =)
