Newbie Bearing Gifts... Tutorials using Photoshop 7.0
This community has helped me out so much that I've decided to give something back...
Maggie Grace is gorgeous so she is my model for these two tutorials.
Most of these tutorials do require prior knowledge of Photoshop. They are written out for guidance and not meant to be used to make a clone of my icon. None of the cuts are fake, promise!

Tutorial for this icon >>>
_First get your base.
_
_I sharpened it. Once in this case, but depending on the quality of the image or your preference you may want to sharpen it more than that.

_New layer. Fill with #000244.
_Set to Exclusion @ 100%
_
_New Layer. Gradient fill #6A6D79 to #636655.
_Set to Color @ 50%.
_
_New Layer. Gradient fill #9E5E37 to #7A5419.
_Set to Color @ 35%.
_
_New Layer. Gradient full #F18B30 to #F8BD90.
_Set to Color @ 50%.
_
_New Layer. I used a texture brush in white and set it to Soft Light @ 100%.

New Layer. I used a border brush in white and kept it at Normal @ 100%.

_Get your base.
_
_Dublicate base.
_Set to screen @ 100%.
_Sharpen.
_
_Duplicate screened layer.
_Go to Blur>Gaussian Blur and set the radius to 3.
_Reduce opacity to 50%.
_
_New Layer.
_Gradient fill bottom right to top left with the yellow, pink, purple gradient that comes in the Pastel group of gradients.
_Set to Hue @ 70%.

_New Layer
_Use a brush in black, erasing any parts that may be obnoxiously covering the main focus of your icon.
_Set to Overlay @ 100%.

_Then my text. Both fonts in black.
_G in "Beautiful ES" size 48. Then set to Overlay @ 100%.
_Grace in "Book Antiqua" size 10 with a spacing of 250.

_New Layer.
_Border brush using a color from the image. (#6A1772)
_Set to Color Burn @ 100%.
