Involves curves, color balance, and selective coloring. I use Photoshop CS3.
Other results:

Get your base, crop, sharpen, whatever. I duplicated mine and set the top layer to soft light at 100%. If your image is too dark, I would recommend doing a screen layer, as this coloring works best with lighter bases.
Step one: New color fill layer - #f7adc2 set to color burn 50%

Step two: New color fill layer - #1b0b01 set to exclusion 100%

Step three: New adjustment layer - Curves

O 146
Red: I 169
O 164
Blue: I 68
O 64

Step four: New adjustment layer - Color Balance
Midtones: +6,+13,-13
Shadows: -16,+4,+35
Highlights: +12,0,-2

Step five: New adjustment layer - Selective Coloring
Red: -100,0,+100,0
Yellow: -100,0,-100,0
Cyan: +100,0,+100,0
Blue: +100,0,-100,0
Neutral: +18,+10,+17,-7

Step six: New color fill layer - #00101e set to exclusion 100%
