The Best Years Icon Tutorial

Made in Photoshop CS2.
Very easy to translate to other programs.

Step One

Crop and prepare your base so you have it as you like. This tute tends to work better with darker caps that you will make brighter later.

Step Two

Add a new layer fill with #000066 or this .

Set to Exclusion 100% and you should have this

Step Three

Add this gradient (I don't know who made it, but I would love to know.)

Set to Colour Burn 100% and you should have this

Step Four

Duplicate the gradient again, but this time set to Overlay 100% and you should have this

Step Five

Duplicate you base layer, bring it to the top and set to Screen 100% and you should have this

Step Six

Now this step is completely optional depending on your base, but I duplicated the screen layer again and got this

And you are done!

As I said this step is completely optional I just wanted my icon a little brighter.
