This is a tutorial to reduce that violet look from the pic, then you can do whatever you want with your icon.

1. Crop your icon.
2. Duplicate the base (and sharpen it - Filter > Sharpen>Sharpen).
3. Go to Image > Adjustments > Variations > More Yellow (Midtones)
(That will take the violet coloring of the pic.)
In my case I just had to add one 'More Yellow', but it depends on every picture so play a little with the settings.
4. Hue/Saturation:
Saturation +42
