Tut #001
Going from this to this.
I use Photoshop CS3 so this is probably non-translatable.
stepo1. Open your image then crop/resize your icon to 100x100.

stepo2. Lets make a curves layer. {Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Curves} I don't really know how to explain which dot in correct form so I will just say dot1 dot2 dot3 from left to right. I will also post a photo of what it looks like.
RGB: Dot1- Output{22} Input{0} (And this is really hard to explain because I am going to making another dot right beside the farthest dot but hopefully the picture will help you.) So make a small dot beside this dot and it should be like this: Output{35} Input{31}
Now Dot2 (Middle dot)- Output{128} Input{111}
Dot3 (Up at the top right corner)- Output{228} Input{255}
IT SHOULD LOOK LIKE THIS!
Okay now push 'OK'. That curves layer is done.

stepo3. Make a Selective Color Layer {Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Selective Color}.
REDS- (C)-42, (M}+18, (Y)+15, (B)+9
YELLOWS- (C)-49, (B)+16
NEUTRALS- (C)+16, (M)+4, (Y)+12, (B)-11
WHITES- (C)+32, (M)-25, (Y)-38, (B)-39
BLACKS- (B)+12
Press 'OK'.

stepo4. You can stop here if your satisfied with the coloring. Anyway, make a new fill layer {Layer>New Fill Layer>Solid Color} with #e4e4e4 that color. And set it to 'Soft Light' with the Opacity set to 80% {This can depend on your image.}.
______________________
stepo5. Make a new fill layer {Layer>New Fill Layer>Solid Color} #bd2b2b that color. Set to 'Difference' with the Opacity set to 10%.
______________________
Your image may be to light. If so just duplicate your base and drag to the top and set to soft light, you can change the opacity if needed, also.
ALL DONE.
Thanks for viewing. Hope you like it.
