Tutorial #001
I'm using PHOTOSHOP CS3
*THIS IS GOOD WITH REDS AND ORANGES*
1. Duplicate base [CTRL + J] and set to softlight. Sharpen if neccessary.
2. Duplicate, desurate [CTRL + SHIFT + U] and set to soflight to add some contrast.
3. Here come the selective color! Make a new selective coloring adjustment layer. CLICK HERE (You could change some of the settings)
4. Make a new layer and fill with #494949, softlight. This darkens the icon. If it's too dark, you could lower the opacity or duplicate the base and set to screen.
5. New layer and fill #00013d, exclusion.
6. New adjustment layer -> selective coloring. CLICK HERE

haudvafra] Set to multiply. I flipped it when I used it on my icon. Invert [CTRL + I] it if you want a white backgorund. ^^;

And you're done! You could add brushes or borders if you like. :3
