This is probably my first decent icon, and I'm, obviously, not very good yet. Criticism is lovely and appreciated.
Also, a quick question. If I wanted to reuse the same coloring, is there a quick way to copy it onto an image instead of going to through all the steps again?

Sharpen and brighten the image as needed.

RGB - Input: 96, Output: 68
Layer -> New Adjustment Layer -> Curves
Blue - Input: 141, Output: 153
Layer -> New Adjustment Layer -> Curves
RGB - Input: 122, Output: 144
Layer -> New Adjustment Layer -> Selective Color
(If you're not using PS, you can skip this step. Your final icon will just be a tiny bit less redish, but it doesn't make a huge difference.)
Reds: -30, 0, 0, 0
Yellows: 0, 0, +38, 0
Whites: 0, 0, -7, 0
Layer -> New Fill Layer -> Solid Color
# D79A89, set to overlay 17%
