Listens: Your Little Hoodrat Friend - The Hold Steady

Tutorial #3

Tutorial number three, using PS 7.0.
I would really dig it if I could get all comments on my journal.
So I make sure I see them. :]

Alright, here is my third tutorial.
I'm going to be using an old picture of the ever-so-foxy Mark Wahlberg as my base image. Hopefully, I can make something rad and teach you how. :]
Remember to play with the adjustments to suit your image and liking.
Alright, let's get crackin'.

1.] Crop & Sharpen & whatever you like to do with your icons for 'prep'.

2.] Duplicate your base and set it to screen. [Percentage is up to you, but I kept it at 100%]

3.] New fill layer; #3B99D6. Set to soft light. [Once agan, opacity is all up to you, but once again I kept it at %100.]

4.] New adjustment layer > Channel Mixer>
Red:
+126, -20, -10
Blue:
+10, +18, +100

5.] New adjustment layer > brightness/contrast > Brightness: 0, Contrast: +21

Now, you can stop here if you want. It makes a pretty boss icon, right?

I think so, but I'm going to continue on and see what I can pull off.

6.] New adjustment layer > Hue/saturation >
Master:
saturation: +27
Cyan:
saturation: -100

7.] New fill layer: #2B0A5C > set to Exclusion @ 50%

8.] Duplicate your base, set to screen, bring to the top and adjust the opacity to your liking. [I set it at 72%]

9.] New adjustment layer, brightness/contrast, brightness: -31 ; contrast: 10

And there you have it. :]
Once again, if you could post all comments here,
I would be totally stoked.
