Ok, this is driving me insaneee. Something's wrong with my colors in Photoshop, or something. When I follow a tutorial, it doesn't give me the result it's supposed to. I've tried this on several different tuts, and they are all messed up.
When I follow this tutorial, I get this:
Way off, obviously. I've used that tutorial several times, and it's always come out just as it was supposed to. I used it on my current icon, in fact.

Those are just a few examples. None of my old PSDs or JPEGS or anything have been affected, it's only on new files. I've restarted my computer, I've reset PS back to it's default color settings. It's in RGB mode, 8 Bits/Channel...I just don't know what else it could be. :[
