Help please.

Okay, this might seem like a stupid question and I don't believe it's been asked.

But how do you 'zoom' in on a pic and keep it for the finished product?

I wish I had pics to go off of and show you, but I don't, so hopefully that's explanatory enough. Thanks in advance for any help!
