Leighton Meester Icon Tutorial

We are going from to

Difficulty: Medium

Alright, this is my first tutorial... I hope you like it! If you have any questions feel free to ask!
I am using this base from kisuncha

1. I started out duplicating the base. Desaturate the image and set to soft light 28% [this may depend on your image]

2. Then I made a new fill layer [layer>new fill layer>solid color] with the color 122545 and set to exclusion 92%.

3. Next, I made a curves layer [layer>new adjustment layer>curves] and the settings are- RGB: input-112 output-124
RED: input- 85 output-88, input-158 output-162 BLUE: input-114 output-112, input-156 output- 162.

4. Now, make a new hue/saturation layer [layer>new adjustment layer>hue/saturation] and up the saturation to +30.

5. Now for a texture! I used this one which I got from a myspace site [I don't remember which though!] Anyways, I set this layer to lighten 100%.
It was a bit in Leighton's way so I moved it over to the left like this and then I erased it around her face like up above

6. I duplicated the texture and set it to lighten 100% and this time I moved it to the bottom right corner [like up above] in the layer 1 copy] and erased a little around her face. Most of the texture should end up being in her hair.

7. Next, I made another fill layer [layer>new fill layer>solid color] and filled it with fdcf99 and set it to multiply 50%

8. Next I used this texture and set it to difference 100%.

9. Now, I made another fill layer [layer>new fill layer>solid color] and filled it with 0f364d and I set it to exclusion 31%.

10. Next, I made a new brightness/contrast layer [layer>new adjustment layer>brightness/contrast]. Brightness:+16 Contrast:+15.

11. Now some gradients! [all of these are from crumblingwalls] I used this one first and set it to color burn 15%

12. I used this gradient and set it to soft light 41%

13. Now, I used this gradient and set it to lighten 52%

14.
FINALLY, sharpen your image once, and then use the blur tool wherever her skin is dotty.

AND YOU ARE FINISHED!!!
Here is the result on more time
