Let's see if I did this right.

NOTE: Images that works best with this tutorial are images that do not have too much of one color like blue, red, yellow, and so on.

There's going to be 2 Selective Coloring, I hope it's not too much.
Okay, we'll be going from this boring 100px100px to this more interesting 100px100px! xDD



Once you've got your stuff set up, create a new layer (or copy that color image and paste it) and fill it in with this color: #000040. Set it to EXCLUSION and change the opacity to 70%.


Create a new layer. Fill that layer in with #EBE9DF (or copy that color image and paste it) and set it to MULTIPLY. Change its opacity to 70%.


Create a new layer. Fill it in with #A2FFF3 (or copy that color image and paste it) and set it to COLOR BURN. Change the opacity to 50%.


Create a new layer and fill it in with #FFDBBD or copy that color image and paste it. Set it to SOFT LIGHT and change the opacity to 30%.


NEW ADJUSTMENT LAYER => Hue/Saturation
Saturation: +20


NEW ADJUSTMENT LAYER => Selective Coloring

REDS
=> CYAN: -100
=> YELLOW: +20

YELLOWS
=> CYAN: +55
=> MAGENTA: -45
=> YELLOW: -80

NEUTRALS
=> CYAN: +20
=> YELLOW: -5
=> BLACK: +10


NEW ADJUSTMENT LAYER => Selective Coloring

REDS
=> CYAN: -80
=> YELLOW: +15

YELLOWS
=> CYAN: +45
=> MAGENTA: -30
=> YELLOW: -55

NEUTRALS
=> CYAN: +10
=> YELLOW: -5


Paste this texture made by graphic_sl and set it to SCREEN. Rememebr to erase whatever that is in the face.


Paste this texture made by frakking_icons and set it to MULTIPLY. Use a soft brush to erase off whatever that's in the way. Set the opacity of the eraser to around 40%.


NEW ADJUSTMENT LAYER => Brightness/Contrast
=> BRIGHTNESS: +11
=> CONTRAST: +10


Duplicate your base and drag it to the top. Set it to SOFT LIGHT and change the opacity to 35% or if you like it at 100%, you can leave it.


SHFT + CTRL + ALT + E to finish it off. If you'd like to add a border on it, double-click or righ-click to go to BLENDING OPTIONS. Go down to STROKE. Click it and change the color to #000000 or so on. Then change the size of it to 2. Go down to position and change it to CENTER.
