Tutorial 1:
Note: one thing I like about this tutorial is that you can play with different image layers to get different results depending on your picture. I'll go into this later.

1. I like to crop my base last so I can get more than 1 icon out of a picture so screen your image if necessary.

2. Fill layer of a light blue (C8ECFB) set to soft light 100%

3. Another C8ECFB at color burn 100%

4.  Fill layer of light pink (FEDCFC) at soft light 50% (use more if your picture is very blue)

5. Another FEDCFC at color burn 50% (also use more if picture is very blue, or less if very red/warm)
--------------------------------------------------------
NOW HERE IS THE STEP FOR PS USERS.

6. Selective Coloring
R:  -100, 0,, 100, 0
Y: 100, 0,, -100, 0
N: 30, 20, -10, 15

PSP USERS/PS USERS ADDITIONAL STEP
(PSP users also have an additional step at the very end to create the contrasty look):

6. Hue/Saturation layer
Master: 0, +20, 0

7. Color Balance
M: -14, -10, -10
S: -10, -5, -5
H: -10, 0, 5
----------------------------------------------------------

8. Hue/Saturation
Master: 0, +15, 0

9. Channel Mixer
Red 105, 5, -10, 0
Green 0, 95, 0, 0
Blue -5, 0, 105, 0

10. Fill layer of light grey (EDEDF2) set at Multiply 100%

11. Hue/Saturation
Master: 0, +15, 0

FOR PSP USERS:

12. Duplicate base image, desaturate, and drag to the top, setting it to Burn between 20 and 30%.

13. Crop, sharpen, add text/textures/brushes etc.

-----------------------------------------------------------
THESE ARE ALL OPTIONAL STEPS TO GET DIFFERENT LOOKS.

-For a sharper, less vibrant look, duplicatte your base and set to "soft light" after desaturating it, putting it above the base layer. It will give you something like this:

-If your picture is already very saturated, play with the hue/sat settings, maybe reducing saturation so your picture isn't orange.

Tutorial 2:

This is seriously the easiest tutorial in the world but works great on screen caps!

1. Screen your image 1-2 times depending on how dark the cap is.

2. Fill layers:
F58FF9 at soft light 100%
EBFD97 at soft light 100%
AED8FB at color burn 100%

3. Hue/Saturation layer
0, 40, 0

OPTIONAL: for the pink/black keely icons, I copy-merged and pasted the final image, cropped the icons, and then added a "variance" layer with one click on cyan.
