Cool swirly tutorial...
Okay, well, I really just wanted to come up with my own cool textures so I started playing around in Photoshop CS2 and came up with this:

Here's how to get it!
1.] Start out with a blank ***BLACK*** canvas.
2.] Use the plain, circle, fuzzy brushes in different colors and sizes.
3.] Duplicate this layer.
4.] Go to Filter--->Artistic--->Plastic Wrap
Put in these settings:
-Highlight Strength: 15
-Detail: 9
-Smoothness: 7
Set this to "Screen" at about 32% opacity.
5.] Duplicate your base once more.
Go to--->"Filter"--->"Distort"--->"Twirl"
Play around with the number, for this one, I used -758
6. ]For this one, I set it to "Darken" (opacity 100%) but I found that others look
good as well.
7.] I decided that I wanted just a :tiny: bit of sparkle, so I used a brush that
I downloaded here: Hybrid-Genesis.
(Which seems to be down now, but has an LJ!)
8. ]I wanted a bit more of a "shiny" look, so I went back to "Filter"--->"Artistic"
---> "Plastic Wrap" & put in these settings:
-Highlight Strength: 6
-Detail: 5
Smoothness: 10
But it's totally optional.
Here are my results:
The ones used with a white canvas (when I used screen over a picture,
these didn't turn out right and pretty)
With the end plastic wrap:

Without the end plastic wrap:

The one used on a BLACK canvas (this look pretty on my picture):

For this one, I also used "Overlay" instead of "Darken", so just play around
with Step 6 a little.
If you have any questions, just ask, and I'll try my best to help! ^^
((Oh, and this is why I say "Use a blank, **BLACK** canvas, when you start...
When I used the blank white canvas, & tried to use it on a picture:

When I used the blank, black canvas:

[Yes, I'm too lazy to actually make a pretty blend for you. =P]
But, just play around with it, I guess. ^^)
