here we go...
i wanted to create an underwater kind of look but not too blue. this is what i came up with. this is my first tutorial so let me know how this works out for you!! &&BTW: this uses selective coloring!!!
we're going from this: to this:
1. get your base ready. crop, sharpen, whatever it is you do...
2. create a selective color layer
magenta: +100, +100, -100, +100
green: +100, 0, +100, 0
set that to normal at 100% opacity
3. create a fill layer with #230F4B
set that to exclusion at 50%
4. create a curves layer
green: 1st point- input 91, output 82 2nd point- input 178 output 193
blue: 1st point- input 57 output 65 2nd point- input 131 output 162 3rd point- input 217 output 215
set that to normal at 100%
5. create a selective color layer
red: -100, 0, +100, 0
green: -50, -100, +100, +50
cyan: +100, 0, -100, 0
nuetral: +50, 0, 0, +25
set that to normal at 100% opacity
6. flatten all your layers
7. now duplicate your base and use gaussian blur with a radius of 5.0 at 40% opacity.
8. flatten one more time and your done!
word of warning: my base was really light with pumped colors, but i really wanted to bring out the pinks and greens as well as give it a blue-watery feel so play around with all the settings to make sure it works for your base!
