Tutorial #5; Gokudera Hayato; Katekyo Hitman Reborn!
Bwahaha, 5th tutorial! First off showing KHR in the graphic journal. ;)
We're going from
to
With Adobe Photoshop CS2
Translatable: Probably?
Includes: Selective coloring, color fill, hue/saturation
1. Start of with your base. Crop it whatever you want.

2. Duplicate the layer and set it to Soft Light.
3. Select new fill layer > solid color > #000033 > exculsion layer at 88%
4. Create a new Selective Coloring layer.
Reds: -26, +33, +18, 0
Yellows: +23, 0, -26, 0
Neutrals: -4, -7, +7, -5
5. Create a new hue/saturation layer. Boost the saturation between 10-20
6. Slap up this texture:

Multiply at 20%
7. Slap up this texture:

Lighten at 45%
8. Finally, use this texture: (Light textures are fun, aren't they? ;DDD)

And set it to screen. (Opacity is up to you) Put it anywhere you like!
DONE!

Other result using this tutorial:

aaaand

I did some stuffs differently though. Following step 1-7, and I use this texture:

With Color Burn at 18%!
and then this texture:
With screen around 90% :D
It's up to you, if you want to follow the alternate or the original one, I love both of the results, actually. ;)
Also x-posted in my icon journal.
