Second icon tutorial

Another tutorial for you all, this time featuring the lovely Matt Lewis. Enjoy, and comment if you found it helpful, or if you have any questions.

Today we're going from:

to this:

Made in PS, with curves, so I think it's translatable, but I'm not sure

This works best on icons for people with brown hair, and it would probably work on black hair.

1) Duplicate your base, and set it to Color Dodge at 53% opacity.
Photobucket

2) Duplicate it again, and set this to Soft Light, again at 53% opacity. This layer should be above the Color Dodge layer.
Photobucket

3) Duplicate your base one last time, and set it to Exclusion at 12% opacity. This should be the top duplicate layer.
Photobucket

4) Add a Curves layer. Select red and enter these settings (point one being on your left, and point two on your right):
Point One Input: 89
Point One Output: 101
Point Two Input: 191
Point Two Output: 176
Now select blue and enter these settings:
Point One Input: 58
Point One Output: 91
Point Two Input: 196
Point Two Output: 159
Photobucket

5) Add a color fill layer and fill it with #DFB6D2. Set this layer to 36% opacity.
Photobucket

6) I then added the below texture by thor_i_lover and set it to color burn, because it overlapped his hair, and I thought it looked cool, but it is not at all necessary, and you can leave this layer off or change it all you want. But it was a nice touch, so I added it.
