Installing Fonts//Simple Icon Tutorial

Preview:
I'm working with Photoshop Elements 4.0. This can be done on any program.

1- Tut on Installing Fonts on a Mac

2- Go from: Photobucket to Photobucket or Photobucket.

Installing Fonts
I'm not sure how to do this on windows//pc. This is how I install fonts on my macbook. I mostly use dafont.

1- Pick any font you like on dafont (I'm downloading the font today). Click on where it says download pc/mac OS X.
2- Wait for the download to finish. When its done, open up your downloads folder.
3- Click on the folder with your font. Now double click on the icon that has been saved as .TTF. In my case it says today.TTF.
4- A new application will open up called Font Book. Click on Install Font. Wait till it finishes and your done.

There are many different ways to download fonts, but I find this way the easiest.

Icon Tutorial
Firstly this is the picture I used: Picture, Texture 1, Texture 2, my resources are in my profile: resources

1- Create to document: 100x100
2- Now I'm working with the big picture (before I cropped it). Create new layer. And fill it with 161879. Set the blend mode to exclusion 100%. Duplicate base layer and drag it to the top. Set that blend mode to soft light. Merge all the layers.
3- Filter>sharpen>sharpen.
4- Resize your picture and drag it onto the new document you created. You could stop here if you wanted. You get this> Photobucket
But I'm not going to.
5- Copy the base layer and set it to soft light.
6- Open the texture one up and place it over the picture. Set the blend mode to screen 100%.
7- Open second texture, place it over picture. And set the blend mode to Multiply 100%. Merge.
8- Once again you could stop here if you liked the coloring. But I wanted to keep going. Okay now duplicate the base layer and set the blend mode to screen 100%. Merge.
9- NAL: Hue/Saturation: Set the saturation to +20.
10- Add whatever brushes you like and text.

Finished product: Photobucket
