Icon Tutorial #3: Hayley Williams

*all settings are default unless otherwise stated!
- 1.

- Prep your base. I am working with this image of Hayley Williams from Paramore. Crop, sharpen, etc.
- 2.

- Duplicate your base once. Desaturate (ctrl+shift+u) this copy and input these settings:
Layer Mode: soft light
Opacity: 40% - 3.

- Create a new curves layer with these settings:
RGB: input; 255 output; 232 (the point in the upper right corner)
input; 166 output; 201
input; 49 output; 75 - 4.

- Create a new channel mixer layer with these settings:
Green: red; +16, green; +80, blue; -6, constant; +6
Blue: red; +6, green; +10, blue; +90, constant; -6 - 5.

- Create a new color fill layer with #343102 and these settings:
Layer Mode: exclusion
Opacity: 75% - 6.

- Create a new curves layer with these settings:
RGB: input; 191 output; 207
Red: input; 66 output; 49
input; 189 output; 188
Green: input; 190 output; 202
input; 124 output; 126
Blue: input; 231 output; 231 (the point in the upper right corner)
input; 191 output; 184
input; 59 output; 52 - 7.

- Create a new color fill layer with #fff8e4 and these settings:
Layer Mode: color burn
Opacity: 50% - 8.

- Create a new curves layer with these settings:
Red: input; 191 output; 193
input; 132 output; 136
input; 55 output; 66
Green: input; 66 output; 53
input; 192 output; 192
Blue: input; 191 output; 193
input; 64 output; 48 - 9.

- Create a new selective color layer with these settings:
Reds: cyan; -45 magenta; +28 yellow; -24
Yellows: cyan; -27 magenta; +28 yellow; +16
Whites: cyan; +12 magenta; +5 yellow; -20 blacks; -14
Neutrals: cyan; +7FOR PSP USERS IN PLACE OF STEP 9! - 9.

- Create a new color balance layer with these settings:
Shadows: +23, -13, +8
Midtones: +7, -7, +8
Highlights: -10, +7, +9 - 10.

- Create a new curves layer with these settings:
RGB: input; 234 output; 229 (the point in the upper right corner)
input; 65 output; 59
Red: input; 190 output; 199
input; 55 output; 56
Green: input; 191 output; 196
input; 9 output; 17 (the point in the bottom left corner)
Blue: input; 232 output; 234 (the point in the upper right corner)
input; 187 output; 198
input; 62 output; 62
