Muted Green Full Tutorial PSP7

Alright here's a tutorial for this icon:





Ok I stared with this base that I capped:



It was a bit dark so I duplicated the layer then went to colors >> adjust >> brightness/contrast. I set brightness to 50 and contrast to 40 and pressed ok. Then I adjusted the opacity on that layer to 60%. And I also set the blend mode to overlay. Now I have this:



Now I made a new layer and filled it with this gradient:



However it's a transparent gradient with properties that look like this:



I set the blend mode on the gradient layer to overlay so it looks like this:



Now I made a new layer and added this brush in white from... I don't know who, please tell me if you do:



And now I have this:



On a new layer I did the text, using Georgia size 5 and a grayish green color, using the White Stripes lyric "I can tell that we are gonna be friends". Finally to finish everything I did a one pixel border around the entire icon on a new layer using these steps:

Selections >> Select All

then

Selections >> Modifiy >> Contract >> 1 pixel

then

Selections >> Invert

finally fill the selection with black and adjust the opacity to 40%
