Photoshop program error

I use Photoshop CS. Whenever I try to use the brush or the eraser, a box pops up that says, "Could not complete your request because of a program error." How can I fix this so that I can actually use these tools?

EDIT: My brushes and erasers are fine now. I didn't do anything to the program; they just magically work. Some bizarre but fortunate twist of fate, I suppose.
